In the midst of all this, everyone seems to assume that the referee is an idiot who does not have a mind of his own and was easily influenced by the players.
What utter nonsense!!!
He is one of the very best... opened and now will close the World Cup, too... why do you think that is? Because he is blind and incompetent!
Above the English media, Rooney, Ronaldo, the teams... even the Pope if you want to get him involved... I trust the judgement of the referee. To even think that he caved in to Ronaldo is an insult to him!!!
But yes, Ronaldo's diving qualifies him for an Oscar... what a shame! And for a player with such huge talents!!!

I'm glad to hear Ronaldo wants to leave. Ferguson has been an absolute wimp through all of this. It doesn't take much thinking, even some of you guys should manage it, to realize that if the situation had been reveresed, A.) there would have been no uproar, and B.) if the media had dared to treat an English player in this manner, Ferguson, and indeed plenty of other English football personalities would've struck back at the injustice of the reporting. But because the player is Portuguese, and because Portugal is the source of England's repeated embarassments, (our NT and Mourinho), you have this shameful display.
I hope Ronaldo does leave, the sweetest justice would be for him to go to Chelsea, where Mourinho would put his talents to use in the most effective way - and significantly deepen the embarrassment. But, his style is probably more suited to Spain, where the most beautiful football is still played from time to time.
