Although I am not a proponent of capital punishment, I really think you should have provided more information, rather than simply copying the first paragraph of the story to support your own point of view.

Here is the (part of) the second paragraph:

Gray had been convicted in connection with a spree of four murders and eight rapes in the Fayetteville, N.C., area over eight months in the late 1980s while stationed at Fort Bragg.

Unless one is against Capital Punishment per se, which Woody hasn't argued in this particular thread, this case seems altogether appropriate for the ultimate penalty.

So, this guy has been on death row for 20 years. What the hell is the hold up? Now there's a presidential order plus threats of years of more appeals! Like get the show on the road. Either execute him or take him off death row. I can only imagine how many million dollars have been spent on this murderer. What a f*cked up system.

This is one of the two reasons I oppose the death penalty, it feeds the beast (lawyers).
