That's the latest poll results from NBC. Seems GWB and the boys made an impact this week, and a lot of people are starting to wonder just what Kerry's platform is.
I mean..........what's the game plan with this guy?
Also........how did Kerry get the nickname Senator Flip-Flop?

Kerry received NO bounce after the DNC - in fact one poll showed him loosing ground after the DNC.

The Republicans put on an impressive convention, amazing speeches by Arnold, Zell, Rudy..... even the POTUS did well last night. I thought it was funny that he poked fun at himself.

At the end of the day you know exactly what Bush will do in the next 4 years and you have no idea what Kerry will do - but don't feel bad he doesn’t' know either.

What am I missing? 9/11 happened on Bush's watch, he gave up in Afghanistan, lied about the reasons he invaded Iraq, has badly mismanaged the war (you know the ongoing one that we won about a year ago) and turned a surplus into a huge deficit. And this guy's gonna win again? Certainly Kerry's not the greatest candidate but come on. We are NOT better off than we were four years ago.

Doesn't anybody care that our soldiers and innocent Iraqi citizens are being killed because of oil?

The normally aphasic Bush impressed me with his much improved rhetorical skills and his "compassionate conservativism" when he nearly burst out in tears last night. It seems like he is finally starting to learn how to at least look presidential. Unfortunately for the Daily Show, missing were his usual malapropisms. And yes, his self deprecating humor almost made him seem affable.

I think that the speeches before his made him look all the more normal and reasonable, just as they did for Cheney. What a great strategic move.

If Bush didn't have a record, one would almost want to believe him. However the proof is not in the pretty label or words but in the actual pudding inside. And well, for that, you have Bush's record ... spin that anyway that you want to, but people with a brain and even those without one with the help of the satire of the Daily Show can clearly see the Republicans' smoke and mirrors.

Sadly there is no real alternative ... except one, which is just less undesirable.

And then it is because "people hate us because of our freedom and liberty and not because of anything that we have done". Well either no other country allows "freedom" and "liberty" or there are quite a number of other "hated" countries in this world who are also becoming patriotically xenophobic and are unilaterally and preemptively invading "non freedom loving" countries. I don't really blame Bush for 9/11 I only do it because I could just imagine what the Republicans would be saying if it happened if Gore were president. But the fact is he was at the helm (or at least in a dense fog in a classroom) when it happened.

And your point would be..... We have more troops in Germany than Afghanistan. If fact, the sad point is we have more troops in Germany than NATO has in Afghanistan. If you're looking for someone to blame for lack of troops/focus in Afghanistan go see NATO.

If you started a war that 'was all about Iraq's WMD' according to Ari Flesher wouldn't you be a tad bit upset when you realzed there were no WMD if that were truly the reason for the war? It didn't seem to phase the Bush camp there were no WMD. I'll tell you what I'll go with he lied but you can have reckless and incompetent if it makes you feel better.

I think there are very valid reasons to be anti war in Iraq but "Bush Lied" isn't one of them.

Who submits the budgets? Exactly where does the buck stop?

When Dick Cheney says "there is NO DOUBT Saddam now has WMD. There is NO DOUBT he is amssing them to use against us.." was that a lie or incompetence? The most important job a president has is when to send our troops into battle. We went to war Bush claimed Iraq had WMD they were going to use against us. They didn't. How can you noy say Bush failed?

They were using the same intelligence that Clinton and Kerry had when they made the same statements.

Bacially the GOP is about feeding the military-industrial complex. As such the GOP needs a Bogeyman, real or imaginary will do, to develop a hate campaign against. Hitler, communism and the Cold War are through, hell they are in bed with the Chi-Comms while still taking pot-shots at Fidel in Cuba and ignoring N Korea ....for the moment. This being said the GOP nominated the Islam fundamentalist as the next best possible Bogeyman they could come up with. Stirring up that 'pot-o-hate' on Islam and how they have designs of 'world domination' will serve the military-industrial complex interest quite well.

Halliburton et al., will have a very merry xmas this year thanks to Dubya and friends.
