So what's the deal with his voice these days? After joining the Guess Who in 1965 and after his departure in 1975, he was said to have one of the best rock voices out there.

Not sure when it started but he has been losing that great signature voice. Just doesn't sound the same when belting it out. I can't really put it into words but if you listen to New Mother Nature or American Woman from 1970 and listen to a rendition from the last few years, you'll hear the difference.

Then again, I actually somewhat prefer this current voice of his on Hand Me Down World and No Sugar Tonight.

Whatever it is, I think the same thing has been happening to John Fogerty.

It's called aging. Happens to us all.

Hope it doesn't happen to me. Actually, I don't sing so who cares? I'm sure years of smoking and constant singing would also contribute to their changes in voice.

Funny though, the likes of Clapton, McCartney, Phil Collins and Ringo seem to sound the same.

Just goes to show you the enormous talent of Sinatra, Martin, Torme', Crosby, Como, Jones, and even Tony Bennet, who sing/sang well into their sixties, but yes, it is aging...and genetics.
