Right now I root for the Bills the most of any NFL team. Its been a good start but don't get too cocky. They should be able to dispose of the Jaguars at home on Monday night but it might be a lot closer than people think. The Bills historically have problems with the Jaguars. They've lost the last two meetings 25-20 last season and 9-6 back in 2021. They are 9-8 against them all time.
For me the biggest weaknesses are the secondary and the lack of a pass rush besides Rousseau. But heck when you have all world Allen the sky's the limit. It wouldn't shock me in the least if they won the AFC.
I agree it does not matter how much the Jags suck they always seem to give the Bills fits. Would not surprise me if Jax wins.
I am more concerned about the Bills Linebackers then secondary or pass rush right now. My reasoning:
The secondary shut down Miami's WR's Waddle and Hill to less than 100 yards combined. After seeing the Cards Harrison light up the Rams... The Bills secondary held Harrison to 4 yards? Sean McDermott always seems to get the most out of the secondary.
Von Miller appears to be back to normal. He has been putting pressure on the QB in the first 2 games. To keep him fresh for later in the year I think he needs to be on a play count. The combo of Von Miller and Rousseau can make life uncomfortable for QB's.
The 2 starting LB's are out (Milano & Bernard). The replacements Williams & Spector are both unproven. So far Williams has issues with coverage and Spector has been a special teams player who has issues staying healthy. I would not be surprised if the Bills trade for LB help during the season.
I do like how the offense seems to be clicking with the run game. Less hero ball from Allen means less mistakes from Allen.
