Rumor has it Thorton wants out. With the loss of Murray and Knuble there were grumblings out of Boston that Joe wants out.

Is there any truth to this? What have you heard?

Certainly over the years JT has shown the meatal he's made of. Last year despite being injured (upper body - ribs?) he played through the pain and lead the Bruins in the playoffs. He has shown his leadership skills time and again. He's a solid offensive player, a strong and large looming presence on the ice and rock in the dressing room.

If this rumor is true? Is he entitled to voice his desires for a trade? The Bruins have always professed that they will build a team around JT, but now; it seems they're dismantling their team.
If the Titanic is sinking, can the captain jump ship? Should he? Should management trade him now - if they're rebuilding?

I have been a bruins fan all my life, and it would be a crying shame it they lost JT.It`s also a shame the bruins are one of the cheapest teams in the league,if not the cheapest. The owner is to concerned about making the playoffs, but not going any further.

99% of the time I would have agreed with you about the B's attitude. However, it is tough to blame management having picking Nylander and Gonchar at the deadline this season.

Martin Lapointe for $5mil/year ... hmmm. Maybe Thornton can play with Brad Boyes and Andy Hilbert. They still have an ok nucleus of Thornton, Samsonov, Bergeron, Gonchar, Boynton, Raycroft. If Murray leaves, Rolston and Nylander can't be too far.

Man i still can`t believe they gave Martin Lapointe $5mil/yr,they could of still had Bill Gurein at that price.Your right they still have a good nucleus. To bad we can`t go back to the days of the big bad bruins with Bobby Orr,Phil Esposito, and Gerry Cheevers.

Blame it all on Sinden, the cheap f***....the fans critisized Thornton in the playoffs(even though he played hurt), so he wants out.
