In a way it is a legal discussion. Its a core part of the power structure created to suppress minorities. And done via lawmakers. I don't see any nuance here. Its clearly, due to its imbalance of usage, intented as systemic racism. Passed down via training.

Its a core legal problem. Remove it and many cop shootings will go away, along with many bad interactions.

Well, I was interested in what happened until the lead-in advertisement for this video was about the KKK. Then they show this guy holding a baby.

I don't give a shit what color you are. The burning question is why don't people just do what they're told when the police give them an order?

This guy was pulled over for driving with expired vehicle registration, he was well known by the cops, he was up on gun charges and resisting arrest by fleeing from police during another altercation with police, there was a warrant for his arrest, he was being cuffed in this situation and he broke free dove into his car trying to flee the scene.

Why is this guy dead?

I believe in BLM, and I think there are many cops (not all) who are racist and abuse their power and privilege.

That said, I’ve watched the video and based on what I saw and heard, I honestly believe that the female officer thought she was deploying her taser.

It seems incredulous that a police officer could make such an enormously lethal mistake, but in the heat of the moment and with the adrenaline pumping, I think it could plausibly happen.

Regardless, she is still entirely culpable. I’m not a legal expert, but I think she will be charged with criminal negligence causing death. It all depends how zealous the DA is.

I remember this. Happened a few years ago.

Now THIS is fckd up big time. Dude was simply trying to get a mental health patient back into a clinic. He was 0 threat, was on the ground with hands up, followed every single command, but was still shot from a distance by a cop.

Instances like this or a 12 year old kid who was shot multiple times while playing with a toy gun are legit cases of police brutality.

All those thugs with multiple prior convictions and arrest warrants who resist and try to flee - they deserve their faith.

Another greatest hit. Fully compliant driver told police he had a concealed weapon permit and politely asked to pull his id out of the glove compartment. Cop lit him up in front of his wife and infant child.
