First thing you get is handcuffed it seems. This kid in Brooklyn Center. The army lieutenant in Virginia. Handcuffs first. Not that you can't trust the cops or anything. So it's not like you have anything to worry about.

I believe in BLM, and I think there are many cops (not all) who are racist and abuse their power and privilege.

That said, I’ve watched the video and based on what I saw and heard, I honestly believe that the female officer thought she was deploying her taser.

It seems incredulous that a police officer could make such an enormously lethal mistake, but in the heat of the moment and with the adrenaline pumping, I think it could plausibly happen.

Regardless, she is still entirely culpable. I’m not a legal expert, but I think she will be charged with criminal negligence causing death. It all depends how zealous the DA is.

It probably won't be the DA but Keith Ellison. He loves to overcharge and lay multiple charges. He is charge happy.

For example, he charged Chauvin with 2nd and 3rd degree murder and 2nd degree manslaughter. Why 3 charges for the same alleged crime?

"Keith Maurice Ellison (born August 4, 1963) is an American politician and lawyer serving as the 30th Attorney General of Minnesota. A member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), Ellison was the U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 5th congressional district from 2007 to 2019."

OBEY THE LAW AND DON'T RESIST POLICE OFFICERS!!!!!!!
Resist arrest and run, and you are sending a message to the police you are a threat to them and the community. Resist arrest and run, and you increase your chance of getting shot.

You might need an attitude adjustment if the police wind up answering to Red China and/or Russia...

If resisting arresr was a death sentence then excessive force would not be a legal concept.

This is crazy your gun is supposed to be on your dominant hand side. The taser weighs 8 oz vs 32 oz gun.

While holding the gun and shouting taser taser taser how does a senior cop not notice they grabbed the wrong weapon?!?!?!

All my info minus the 1st sentence was based off a nytimes article on this incident.

Another upstanding citizen shot for no reason what so ever !

On a serious note, why cant young black men simply follow simple directions when dealing with the police?

If you believe this then you must also believe that Qualified Immunity needs to end.

If the Justice System is fair then the Cops have nothing to worry about in their actions right?

What's your understanding of Qualified Immunity? Just interested because it seems an odd concept that doesn't appear in the law of any other country.

Its a racist policy that allowed cops to shoot black people on site. The origin of many police depts, especially in the south, were either slave chasers or KKK members. And the State Govts gave them the tools to suppress black people. That and all white juries.

It needs to end. Its another step towards real equality.

Well, I was interested in what happened until the lead-in advertisement for this video was about the KKK. Then they show this guy holding a baby.

I don't give a shit what color you are. The burning question is why don't people just do what they're told when the police give them an order?

This guy was pulled over for driving with expired vehicle registration, he was well known by the cops, he was up on gun charges and resisting arrest by fleeing from police during another altercation with police, there was a warrant for his arrest, he was being cuffed in this situation and he broke free dove into his car trying to flee the scene.

Why is this guy dead?

Thug life.

Nothing to do with color.
