Broken Toe

I broke the toe next to my big toe on mt right foot Saturday night. I've been told there's nothing that you can do except let it heal on its own. Thoughts? I would love a massage but its sore to the touch.

A friend tells me to tape it to the next toe (the 3rd one) to keep it aligned as it heals. Other than that, not likely much more you can do.

Yep, the advice you got was right -- not much can be done. If your doctor didn't tape it to the next toe, then maybe there's a reason for that. But that's a common fix.

Good news is that broken toes heal fairly quickly and without much ado. Could be worse! Could be a cervical vertabra.

First of all how did you break that toe? seems like a wierd toe to break...ive heard people break their big or pinkie toe but not any of the ones in between...also im not sure if you have broken any other appendages but how does it compare to lets say breaking a finger. I have brokean a couple of fingers playing rugby...seems like the toe would be worse.

broke the same toe on the same foot Xmas eve 2001.

Was hammered and was running up a flight of stairs at home and fell with my entire weight on that toe.

Hurt like a son of a gun. I mean really hurt!

hobbled around for a week then the nail fell off. It's a little crooked and hurts when I play sports on a hard surface.

Probably should have taped it so that it healed properly.

Not much you can do.
