Woods is going after his third straight British Open this weekend.

He needs 7 more major victories to top Nicklaus' record and I won't call him the greatest golfer ever till he breaks that record.
Woods 12, Niklaus 18.
Jack Nicklaus played the best golf of his career in his early 30's; so, it'll be interesting to see if Tiger continues hot in his early 30's.

They are already engraving his name on the jug. Watch for the same old story: Sergio collapses, some local hero makes a splash, Tiger runs away with it. Light winds and relatively nice weather...should be a picnic for Tigger.

BTW, nice blow-up by Daly. Did he drive it into the ocean on 14?

Sergio's problems in the majors are putting related. it looks like he's rolling the new belly putter nicely.

He looked confident on the greens today and he should be able to keep rolling it well as these greens are not very difficult.

The odds are, Garcia is going to win a major sometime. Thursday night is a bit premature to begin engraving the jug with Tiger's name.

Going into Sunday, you've got to believe it's a two horse race.

Too bad for Sergio, I was really hoping he wouldn't falter on Sunday but I think his front 9 did him in. He made some good putts late in the round that just didn't drop. I must say that it was nice not seeing Tiger win. Although where was the TV coverage of Mike Weir and KJ?

The coverage of Weir is always bad. Luckily, we get to see every shot of Tiger's wether he's in contention or not. And.......don't forget the bonus shots of Tiger eating a banana. walking to the porto potty..........etc.

Sergio chokes (again)

I for one am delighted that Sergio did not win The Open..My motto on Sunday was ABS (Anyone But Sergio)....I am surprised that he did not spit into the cup again after he missed a few of those putts.Since he pulled that spitting routine a couple of months ago I lost all respect for him both as a golfer and as a sportsman..
BTW,we will have a lot of coverage of Weir this week as long as he makes the cut...No Tiger and in fact very few if any big names are playing at Angus Glen in the Canadian Open..

I don't know if I would consider Garcia choking. He played well down the stretch and made a good stroke on 18 to win. It looked like that putt was going to drop. He played 18 better than Harrington, twice. Just the same I wasn't disappointed to see Paddy win it.

I didn't hear about the spitting thing. If that's true, I hope Garcia never wins a major.

Garcia spitting....

At a tournament earlier this year he spit in the cup after picking his ball out.He had previously missed the putt..It was all over the Golf Channel and he claimed his spit wnt down the hole which holds the flag and as such no one after him would get spit on his ball...The guy is classless.

Typical American TV coverage - Tiger on every hole and the announcers kept hoping he would make some ground on the leaders. Weir finished ahead of him.
