Right after this, they announced that they have invented "fire".

"Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- The Branch Academy of Railway Science under the Academy of Sciences of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has developed a new kind of converter to be used in lighting of passenger train. Merited scientist and associate Prof. Pang Sung Gwan told KCNA that this 30 kilowatt device converts high voltage of direct current flowing through railway lines into alternating current to supply electricity for fluorescent lamp and incandescent electric lamp as well as electric fan, air conditioner and heating equipment in train.
The converter, as big as twice an ordinary filing cabinet, saves direct-current motor, generator for lighting of passenger car, much manpower, materials and funds. And its production cost is very low. The converter enjoys good popularity at home and abroad. "

Anyone else monitor the North Korean "official" website? I do occassionally for interest and humour sake.

It's hilarious in it's propaganda about the south and the US. At the same time though it's kinda scarey and worrisome in it's idol worship of the Great Leader and how it shows the absolute total uncontested power and brainwashing of the state. I feel sorry for the people there. A desperate nutjob country like this with nukes is a million times more dangerous than a place like Irag.

They enslave their own people and are part of the axis-of-evil according to George W. Bush. I'm sure right now he's deciding whether to attack these guys or Iran first.

I say liberate these people since they have family in South Korea that they haven't seen in 50 years. South Korea is right next door for crying out loud.

These fuckers wouldn't stand a chance against the US of A.

I like George Bush more than I like the N.Korean regime.

I really feel bad for the N.Koreans. 22 million people on the verge of starvation and it gets little mention. North Korea even donated $150,000 to the tsumani relief as a show of propaganda that they are a rich nation who can donate aid to help others. N.Korea is is worse shape than all those countries affected by the tsunami. I saw some shows on N.Korea on TVO and it is scary what the citizens are brainwashed to believe.

That is one country where I would support a regime change by force.

WTF ?!

"Long-Wave Infrared Ray Radiation Paint Developed

Pyongyang, January 7 (KCNA) -- The Building-materials Institute under the Paektusan Architectural Center of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has succeeded in developing long-wave infrared ray radiation paint efficacious for the treatment of diseases. In an interview with KCNA, director of the institute Ri Tok Ho said the clinical test proves that the paint, made of natural mineral powder and various nontoxic substances abundant in the country, gives no harmful effect to the human body.
It is good for the recovery from fatigue, treatment of diseases and saving of heat energy. It can be coated on concrete wall, wood, iron sheets and stone materials including interior walls of steam bathhouse, physical treatment room and drying room and the floor for heating.
The solid membrane of the painting, with porous sponge structure, absorbs and kills germs and removes various bad smell, thus keeping steam bathhouses hygienic.
The serviceable life of the painting is five years at minimum. The wave band of long-wave infrared ray radiated by the painting is 8-12 micrometers and its radiation rate is 93-95 percent.
The long-wave infrared rays help the sauna bathers perspire without feeling heart suffocation and breathing trouble even under the temperature above 100 degrees centigrade.
It, therefore, is potent for the cure of heart diseases, neuralgia, skin disorders, circulatory sicknesses, women's troubles such as postpartum diseases, sterility and disorders of menstruation, waist pains, bone fracture and other diseases.
Its production cost is very low as it is simple to make."

IMHO N.Korea is the only country that truely deserves the "Axis of Evil" label.
Citizens of NO country deserves to be treated as 'Axis of Evil' - bombed, sufffered as infra-structures ruined, occupied by foreign troops. Just because a southern fool wants more oil and vengence as his father had assignation attempt years ago. To put tens of thousands lives at risk, including his own citizens, in the name of terrorism.

Bush may be the biggest terrorist of them all as he is letting the real culprit Osama, who he indirectily has financial dealings with off the hook. Bullshit of this you're with me or against me brainwash crap. As days go by, Bush sounds just like Saddam, Castro and other dictator that he claimed are evil.

Agree that North Korea's poor treatment of its own citizen is upsetting but no excuse for attack by foreign troops. Owning Nuclear weapons, for that matter, China, India, Pakistan, Iran and others should be invaded. How would you like American G.I. patrolling Yonge street telling you that you can't go out after 11pm due to curfrew. Or we are without drinking water or your house in rubbles as it was bombed because we have a dictator for a leader?

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Remember, the Korean war was a draw - no winners & no losers. The N Koreans held their own against a formidable opponent. If anyone should be shaking in their booties - it would be the US.

I kinda like the news clips of the "Great Leader". The guy has a great hair doo. I also understand he is renowned as a "Stick Man" extrodinaire. Note to Vinny: George had two choices. Invade Iraq or North Korea. George went the easy route.

He should have finished off Bin Laden and his Islamic extremist boyfriends in Afghanistan first. After Iraq it's a toss-up between Iran and North Korea.

Israeli's do not deserve to be terriorist targets. Neither do Americans. Or aid workers in Iraq. Or German and Japanese civilians in WWII.

Any innocent citizen does not "deserve" to be bombed. But wake up... it's a harsh world out there.

You sir may be sleeping with your eyes open.

Bombing a country that wasn't even part of the terrorist campaign does not make it right. Major brain-wash here and bad logic. Lumping the rights and wrongs in 1 basket.

Isreali/PLO dispute is the fuel that started most of the terrorist cause and muslim hate for U.S.

U.S. invading Iraq is like Iraq in the 1st conflict, except the excuse is to fight terrorism for its oil, while the rest of the world was/is against it. Torturing POW just like other evils.

Targetting Iraq aid workers is wrong but deseperate citizens does deseperate things. With your homeland invaded, people fight with any cause to 'protect' their land.

Fix the current problems, not start another one. Baby bush is using war to fix his problems at home, namely economy as he sucks with domestic politics. Classic ECO 101, using war as engine to print $, to revivid his economy. Great now that we pissed off the Muslim world, lets have the Buddhist brothers hate us too. Just because it's a harsh world, doesn't give insecure Bush excuse to dictator the world. Two wrong don't make a right!

VT, baby Bush don't want Bin Laden as that would cut off cash cow. Don't be so sure N. Korea be easy, remember Afghan and Vietnam. War in Iraq hasn't been 'won', lookin at how many G.I. died since the 'victory'. People determination may out last G.I. not so convinced of the lost cause.
