I think he has potential at leader. I mean, his finance bonafides speak for themselves. He is a good speaker, is bilingual, and in many ways not tarnished by Trudeau.FWIW, Trudeau doesn't strike me as someone that has been in command of the party. Of course, those who have some affinity for the Liberal party are going to throw him under the bus. You know...."It's all Trudeau's fault" etc. etc.
I know Carney from his days on the international financial stage. I don't know if he's got a shot at leadership, but he could try to make Canada more business friendly.
All that being said, I think the Liberals will still get creamed even with him as leader. I've said it before, governments have a best before date, even the best managed ones...and the Liberals need to be removed, even if its only temporary. Now, would they allow Carney to remain leader if the party gets clobbered? I think so, as long as he wins a seat. He could spend the next four years building up his profile, and shit all over PP and his policies. Sort of like what PP has been doing to Trudeau. Now, this could be difficult if PP is successful in some of his plans....which for the most part have been vague. So, we'll see how Canadians vote in the 2029/30 election...
