You have a highly educated workforce. Vast natural resources. Even if it has been overdone, you have a dynamic immigration system that brings in more talent.
Canadians should give Pierre Poilievre a chance to improve the business environment and attract capital. If you simply pass the baton but still bitch and moan about diversity, climate and for god's sake evil profit seeking investors, God help Canada.
If Trudeau has his wish Melanie Joly would not be his
replacement. Trudeau wants to do to Joly what he has
done to Canada. It would make things difficult for Trudeau
if Joly becomes the PM.

There's a bigger point. We had to argue here for several years about the U.S. immigration problem. At one point, we had members telling us that it wasn't a problem. It was all made up by Conservative media.

Two things.
American and Canadian immigration systems cannot be compared. Canadian immigration is better organized in general.
You have to be wary of why someone is "anti-immigration" to any extent. There are many who are anti-immigration for ethno-cultural reasons. Those aren't actual valid reasons.
Now I took issue with the TFW program because the sudden influx of so many low paid, less educated immigrants is contrary to what Canada should be focusing on.
Mind you I have no cultural or ethnic issues with them. My issue is that it is not what Canada needs.
We did not have this issue before.
So I believe I saw the issue as it unfolded in a timely manner.
Same with H1B, both programs are designed to get employers workers who can't leave their jobs for fear of being kicked out of the country.
PeePee will try to do the same thing that trump is trying, to fan the flames against immigration while bowing down to corporate demands for indentured serfs.
