Brazil vs. France

I posted in another thread that Brazil wouldnt win this tournament, and they won't.
France's midfield was great today, outplayed Brazil's midfield. Where was Kaka? Where was Ronaldinho today, he had a disappointing tournament, I dont care what anyone says.

France was amazing!! Zidane was the best player so far and they didnt let a chance to the brazilians to shot on goal (1 shot on goal with all these stars on their team!!) If they continue to play like that they will win for sure this world cup.

France outcoached Brazil... and their best players were better than Brazil's best. I was looking for Ronaldinho to come alive and lead the team to victory by imposing his will on the game. Instead, it was Zidane who took this role and took this game and snatched it away. What a brilliant performance by a great field general. Though it's easy to say this after the loss, I believe this tourney was lost in the first round for Brazil... and not during the match yesterday.
My thought after the first two games of the tourney was to pull Ronaldo, leave Adriano upfront and have Robinho fill the space as second striker. As one commentator put it, the younger stars seemed to play with more purpose, more speed,... as though they had something to prove. The three goals by Ronaldo were somewhat misleading as he had nothing when it counted most. Also, the team chemistry was also hurt by having a lineup that was slower and more methodical. By the time yesterday's game rolled around, it was basically too late for them to start switching around the lineup and pulling Ronaldo...
And what about Ronaldinho? Buddy laid an egg in this one... reminds me of the final between Barcelona & Arsenal when he did NOTHING and they stole a victory in a game that I thought should have gone to Arsenal. He is still a wonderful player, but for me, the truely great ones are those who lead their team when needed most... as number 10 with the opposition did in yesterday's game.
In the end, it was a great, well deserved victory by France. Brazil got their asses handed to them.

Damn am I ever disappointed. I really believed Brazil would win that game... and not only cuz I'm a fan. I had some serious doubts about this team winning it all after the first two games of the tourney... but gained some confidence and belief as things moved along.Choron said:Watch out for Zidane tomorrow...
