died after contracting COVID. Rather than drink and drive, I use to take the Brampton bus to/from the late beloved Cannonball.

Question: Does anybody know why the Brampton bus stops are not at street corners but halfway between the corners?

Maybe more room for right turning vehicles to get behind the bus before going around it maybe?
Safer than trying to go around the bus immediately as one right turns.
I also took the Bus from Cannonball.
Condolences to the drivers family.
RIP.

I think that bus driver's (RIP) route included Amazon. Public bus drivers are exposed to all kinds of passengers. Not a job I want at the best of times.

Bus stops at mid-block does make it a hassle when one has to transfer from one bus to another bus. It also means the bus often stop or pull out in moving traffic. I did ask a driver once if he could drop me off at the corner. He said it was against company policy and he would be held responsible if I got killed. I think I'm at greater risk of getting killed being dropped off in mid-block.

Ever wonder why car insurance is so high in Brampton?

Is this a COVID thread, a RIP thread, a zoning and planning thread, a transit thread or an insurance thread? Seems all over the map to be honest.
Do you have something against public transportation? :sneaky: :mad:o_O

It's a whatever pops into someone's head thread. Some people lack focus.

Rather than start 6 separate threads like the Suez crisis, we roll everything into one thread.

This thread goes where members want to go.

Getting back to Brampton Transit before we were interrupted. The problem with taking the bus back from Cannonball is that the last bus left at around 11:30PM or something like that.

I remember that the buses were always or almost always crowded, even during non-business hours (probably shift workers).

Presumably, got infected from a bus passenger.

"Sources indicate the driver worked on the route that regularly picked up passengers from the Amazon warehouse that had to be closed because of a large COVID outbreak. City officials would not confirm that report."

Because stopping at a corner impedes traffic obviously

Do Toronto streetcars and buses stop at corners? We know Brampton buses do not.
I'm sure if you go through streetview there must be one somewhere that close to a corner but vast majority are not

Its a massive safety hazard
