I don't know if the flyer is out yet or not, but if you go into Best Buy you can see stockpiles of Boxing Day items kept in big piles, sometimes tarped or wrapped, and kept in the back of the store.

Just by peeking you can get a sense of what's going on sale and how many they have.

There are indeed deals out there on Bday. Whether the money you save is worth the hassle is really to each his own. Or you can try the online boxing day sale thingy, some starts early this evening.

Now here's this deal , not at Best Buy, but at Winners on Bday. Is it a great deal, you tell me:

8 Gb iPod nano, CAD 159.99

min. 30 units per store, 1 per customer.

Merry Christmas all. Have a fun and safe one.

Beware, I had a look at the Best Buy ads for their LCD TV's and some of those "deals" are for units that are just 740dpi instead of the 1024dpi usually associated with HDTV. So you are being suckered!!!
Not sure what you mean 720p,1080i and 1080 are all hdtvs?

Yeah I was considering going to get the Sony Bravia 37" but decided that my hobby (and my quest for a condo) was more important than the LCD. Besides, with LCD technology advancing the way it is, perhaps next year, we could get 37" LCDs selling for $599. Who knows.

I guess I'll stick with my old Citizen 24" TV (the old kind, I had it since 2000). But it's really not that much of a big deal. I think the sucker has at least another year before I dump it in the trashcan.

As usual Futureshop is at the cutting edge of obsalesence. Had you actually purchased the TV you would have found that it is outdated. Sharp is now selling the D92U or the D64U. They are being tricky, clearing old stock. They are looking for bargain hunters to buy the old stock at high or even inflated prices. The D62U had quality control problems, which the D64U was designed to solve. Be very careful when buying any flat screen. A lot of research is required.

No shit, I tried that at Future Shop last week for a Wii...failed miserably, and although I want a nice flatscreen for my new place, I won't be trying again.
I have an inflatable doll you can stand in line at Future Shops. Either she can stand in for you or she will keep the geeks entertained while you shop.
