No they don't, but they had a similar day last month, the day after their Thanksgiving in late November. I believe it's called black Friday.

Maybe it would be better then, we would have the deals before Christmas instead of after.

A lot of companies dispense with Columbus Day and Veteran's Day in order to give employees an extra day off on Christmas and Thanksgiving.

US govt employees have comp time and annual leave, so they're usually off on the day after Thanksgiving and often, the whole week between Christmas and New Year's.

Dec. 26th is a big retail day in the States too ... for returns.

I don't know what world yo live in..but unless you are a teacher or work for the government, you need to use vacation days..........otherwise you do not get paid.

Am I the only guy who thinks that Boxing Day sales are a sham?

With stores bursting with people, why would retailers possibly lower prices?

In my experience the only REAL DEALS I have EVER seen at a boxing day sale - which should still be the 27'th as far as I am concerned, is wrapping paper.

Other than that, there are NO deals to be had.

A few years ago, I thought I would check out a few electronic stores. There was some shit that was reduced, nothing anyone would want. Everything you might want was regular priced.

You want a deal - wait till Februrary for electronics, or August for furniture when things are really really quiet.

What about waiting until the first week of January when many people return barely used electronics such as LCD and Plasma TV's and you can get them cheaper seeing as how they are now open boxed?

Um, WRONG! I go out every year and I get lots of deals. If you're one of the first in line at the big box electronic stores, you can save hundreds if not thousands of dollar.

I dunno where you've been not to be getting deals. Probably asleep at home while the bargain hunters are snapping up all the deals. ;)

Some stores reduce their prices a week before boxing day. Then set additional items on boxing day.
And some places increase their regular prices to make it look like you are getting a great deal when in actual fact you are not.

And a lot of places cut their regular prices and have door crasher specials. Dunno why people waste so much emotion hating boxing day sales. If you don't wanna go out and shop, stay home! Silly grinches.

I can get a better deal in March when they are starving to death and I've got a fist full of 50's.

But if you want to wait in line, knock yourself out.

It's called the law of supply and demand. On the 26'th of December, the demand will be huge.

On the 26'th of February, the demand will be minimal.

Wait till early January and hit Best Buy for the "open box" specials on returned items. These deals aren't as good as they used to be, but you can still find some gems.

The same used to be true on big screen TVs after the Super Bowl, cause everyone would buy one for the game and then return it. However, I noticed that there weren't too many deals last year. Perhaps the stores have caught on and do something to negate the buy and returns.
