I'm not glorifying David Robert Jones, I wasn't a friend of his. I didn't know him as a person. You, Sir Poker, can do as you wish.

I will always love "Space Oddity", "Absolute Beginners", "Fashion" et al.... His contribution to this world is some very beautiful and influential music that keeps on reverberating everywhere. That's never going to change.
Ashes To Ashes is one of the most original sounding songs ever recorded.

At least Bowie never considered himself a warlock like Jimmy Page.

The 70's was the age of rock decadence kicked off by The Stones Tour in 1972. After that it was all about partying on private jets and getting the youngest pussy one could find. Most of the rock stars had high powered lawyers to make sure the statutory rape charges never saw the public eye. Gary Glitter continued with the lifestyle and got arrested in Thailand.

At around the making of Houses of the Holy, Jimmy Page got it into his head that he was Aleister Crowley. Crowley was the forerunner of Scientology, he considered himself a warlock but chickened out when it came to the virgin sacrifice...the thought of swinging from his neck until dead was unappealing to him. Page wanted virgin blood with the youngest groupies, like Crowley before him, he couldn't seal the deal. It would have been beyond Peter Grant to fix.

Even OZZY told Page he was being an asshole. I looked at the lyrics to the song, Ozzy didn't believe.

Actually the lyrics to Mr. Crowley were written by Ozzy's bass player Bob Daisley, who pretty much wrote all the lyrics to Ozzy's 80s albums.

I actually saw this when it aired in 77. As a kid Bing was way more famous for me than Bowie.
I loved those Hope/Crosby Road movies.
I guess we are in the same age bracket because I remember seeing it also.
It was such a strange duo because Bing was razor straight and strict. I remember him saying if any of his kids ever lived with someone before marriage he would disown them. I wonder if he realy knew anything about Bowie.

Good to know…. You are OK with Pedo’s if write catchy tunes. R Kelly happens to be in prison for that, because it’s a crime.

Bullshit aside…. It’s the same all over. Blacks did not believe OJ was guilty. Hollywood turned a blind eye to Polanski, as they were fans. NBA fans did not give a shit about a Kobe’s rape charges. Ravens fans did not give a shit when Ray Rice knocked his wife out. Fans defend there heroes. Human nature.
I didn't say I was "OK" with Pedo's, it does you a disservice to put words in another person's mouth.

The only Hero I have is my Mother.

Akin to R. Kelly, if there are charges and solid evidence, bring it forth and put it through the proper legal course and outcome.
This applies to anyone guilty of this. A teacher I once respected. The Father of one of my friends who we all thought of so highly. Let them burn.

Oh, and it's "their", not "there".
