Listening to Diana Krall's latest CD 'Quiet Nights'.
It has a little of everything, pop, bossa nova, jazz.....it's nice.
Fav track is her rendition of 'Guess I'll Hang My Tears out to Dry'.

Linda Ronstadt had a great cover of that same tune awhile back.

Linda Ronstadt - Guess I'll Hang my Tears out to Dry
She did some great stuff with Nelson Riddle. Here's a 'live version' not as good quality as the copy I have but it gives you an idea.....the girl has some pipes.

Linda covers 'What's New' great also. It's the very next UTube clip.

Live from the 90's. Great vox performance ( sans Bowie ) if you dig the song to begin with.

Then there is this infamous chill track, by Bent

Swollen - Bent

I like my music to have a bit more of an edge such as from Jazzanova or Kruder & Dorfmeister.

Some would say this is the track that made him famous back then, not the Look of Love.

Here is the original version by Jorge Benjor, who composed it.

Outstanding album

Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 - Greatest Hits
Bought this vinyl LP back in the 60s. It's timeless and still played at times on radio. Believe a young Laura Fygi was on that album singing hit songs, Mais Que Nada, So Many Stars and Like a Lover. Laura Fygi today, still has a fantastic voice.

Copied it to audio cassette, then later to CD and still listen to it....:)

Jane Monheit has always been a fav on mine.....great voice.
She does these two songs nicely.
Always like the way she covers Joni Mitchell's tune 'Twisted'.

Jane Monheit - I Wish You Love / Twisted

This is my fav. Came across her jazz fest footage while channel surfing back in 1993/94 late one night in Toronto, totally captured by the song and her performance. Had to go to HMV the next day to get her CD. Yes , I wanted it that bad LOL.

Carla Cook

The late Sam Cook's daughter can sing and she has a great combo backing her.

Here's a couple favs with a Bossa Nova flavor, where she's cookin' .....

Carla Cook - Can This Be Love

Carla Cook - Like a Lover, great cover on this Sergio Mendes classic, IMHO the best cover to date.

She covers Marvin Gay pretty good to, with a little scat thrown in:
Carla Cook - Inner City Blues

Toronto Escorts
