The first cop went from zero to asshole even faster...
''Went from Detective Tutuola to "fuck the police" Ice-T really fast ''
And this seems to be the case with all 7 of his vehicles if I'm understanding this right.Drivers licence expired. Registration expired (for 3 years). Inspection (safety) expired. Therefore he’s uninsured. And the cop should be lenient and let him drive away?
He doesn't need an appointment at the DMV because they know him?
But most importantly, did his "Car Shield" expire?Drivers licence expired. Registration expired (for 3 years). Inspection (safety) expired.
While not excusing Ice-T's negligence in not renewing his licence and registrations, it did seem he was stopped right next to the DMV building, and had an envelope in his hand with what I assume were the papers intended to fix the situation at the DMV. The first cop did lie to the SGT about Ice-T's behavior, and could have let him park in the lot while fixing the situation.Watching the whole video looks like he was infact going to the DMV.
The police officer could have given him the option to park and walk over to the DMV but he didn't.
He also lied to his Sgt right off the bat, that he did, when he did not.
The police officer seems to be an asshole who was on a minor power trip lol.
I guess it could happen when you are so rich and you have 7 cars. While not excusing Ice-T's negligence in not renewing his licence and registrations...
Maybe he is one of those people that made easy money fast and spent it faster. Or maybe he is Stupid and Furious and the judge suspended his drivers license for years.I guess it could happen when you are so rich and you have 7 cars.
You just forget your license and registration! lmao.
This cop may have been a dick (ie not been “chill” or “nice”) but did nothing wrong from a legal / procedural point of view. I’ve known a number of people who have interacted with police, who haven’t been “nice” but did there job by the letter of the law. It sucks if you are on the receiving end, but getting a “break” can’t be an expectation. And if a cop lets you drive unlicensed, unregistered and therefore uninsured, and you get in an accident and cause major damage to someone else’s car or worse, hurt or kill someone, they will share your liability.Cop was a bit of a dick.
Reminds me of the time I picked up my licence plate sticker and had it in my glove box. I wanted to wait until I was home to remove the plate bracket and install the sticker. When I got pulled over for an expired sticker. Cop asked for my licence, ownership and registration. I showed him the new plate sticker and explained that I was going home to get a screwdriver and put it on. I was super polite but the Cop didn't care and gave me a ticket for $85.00. And Cops wonder why people don't like them. Asshole move of the highest order.
Ice-T has lead quite the life. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice-T
And that's exactly what happened in this interaction:This cop may have been a dick (ie not been “chill” or “nice”) but did nothing wrong from a legal / procedural point of view. Cops have the option to use use discretion. In my case, it wasn't about driving without a licence, the vehicle not being registered or driving without insurance. Everything was up to date, including a valid plate sticker, it just wasn't on licence plate. There was no liability issue. I know many cops and have mentioned this story to them before. They all agree, the Cop who wrote me the ticket was an asshole. This cop may have been a dick (ie not been “chill” or “nice”) but did nothing wrong from a legal / procedural point of view.
