Travis has good speed at third. EE main job was getting ball into outfield and he surpassed that. He put a good solid swing and with his strength - that is a homer.

The only mistake on the night was bad baserunning in fifth and they should have tried to score the go ahead run on Zeke's hit. I think Rivera has been too cautious.

A beer? You? LOL BTW what happened to Vodka(s)???
Remember if you want to have a drink and you think it is too early, it is 5 o'clock somewhere!
I sometimes drink beer before switching to vodka. Stella Artois and Becks are my favs.

1pm is too early though, I draw the line at 3pm

Pompeys speed would have negated a double play

EE hit homer because he was trying to he was not shortening his swing and playing for a lazy fly to right

We won game because Showalter made a historic flub in trying to get Britton in a save situation
You did not see the game, Edwing is a homerun hitter and he got a 90 mile per hour fast ball right down the middle of the plate, what should he do with that pitch - bunt. You are so negative for such an exciting moment for Toronto, Canada and the Bluejays franchise.

If we are talking about the same play, Bourne actually got a glove on the ball and should have caught it. I think Saunders didn't want to get doubled off and if Bourne did catch the ball as he should/could/would have then Saunders would have tagged up and run to 3B.

Pompeys speed, if he was put on first, would have forced infielder to hold runner at third with a look then still try to throw out EE without runner coming in or try for risky double play

EE hit homer because he was trying to hit a homer which means he was not shortening his swing and playing for a lazy fly to right is my understanding, they are two different swings

If you are going to shorten swing for the sac fly I do not think you can change your mind in the milli second you have to see that it is a pitch in your wheel house then go for the long swing

I could be wrong as I have never played at that level, just a thought

I would have been just as excited about well executed lazy sac fly to right

On paper,Jays should be a better team for this series. Their starting rotations is even better than last with the addition of Sanchez! I think Mr.Batflip will be motivated to have a heck of a series to even the sucker punch by Odor.
Therefore, I am calling for...a series sweep by the Jays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else notice the San Francisco Giants won tonight courtesy of the long ball (their only runs coming on a 3 run HR) after small ball attempts failed to result in even one run?
Wouldn't it be cool if the Jays played the Giants in the WS?

If you know your Jays history, you'd know why.

Interesting how a 3 game win streak gets everyone back on the bandwagon

Anyways

Estrada starts today and not Happ

Vital call as todays starter will be only pitcher able to pitch 2 games

Happ could pitch game 5 (4 days rest). Not likely, but possible. Hamel may pitch Game 4 on 3 days rest if Texas is facing elimination.

I was thinking that too. I'm calling 3-1 for the Jays though.

When you get beyond Hamels their starters arent all that great. Only way we can lose this series is if our bats go cold again

We all would have been happy if Edwin hit a sacrifice fly, he hit a, walk off, 3 run home run instead, what's your issue with that.

It is more of a question than a issue

What is the greatest likelyhood of bringing in the run ?

1 trying to hit a homer

2 trying to shorten up swing for sac fly

If you can do both then hit a homer then I say great at bat

If EE intentionally played the low percentage big ball instead of the higher percentage small ball then he got lucky

Pompey and Goins have been left off the Rangers series roster.
I dont know if that means they're also ineligible for the next round of playoffs.

Jays' starting lineup:

Travis
Donaldson
Encarnacion
Bautista-DH
Martin
Tulo
Pillar
Upton
Carrera

Jays get to reset the lineup for each playoff round. Pompey was left off to make room for another reliever, in case Osuna has real shoulder problems. Hopefully this doesn't bite us in the ass. Goins isn't needed because we have Barney.
