In today's Sun, there is an article on a Bloc Quebec member refusing to provide a Canadian flag for some war vet's for the upcoming Remembrance Day.

Here's a group of people who put all on the line for their country and this pig headed loser won't help their cause he is only interested in Quebec independence.

And you American's get frustrated with France trying sharing a country with them!

Canada allows a country to exist within a country. Politicians have slowly and quietly got the masses to accept it. This would never fly in any other country.

Separatists should be shot, pissed on and shipped out a very small island in the Gulf of St.Lawrence.

we get what we deserve... unfortunately.

Problem is, Canadians are too nice to tell Quebec to just fark off and leave...that and being a bit paranoid about loosing the eastern provinces to the U.S. if Quebec did leave.
Hey, but if you didn't have the balls to tell the English to f*ck off what are the chances you'll do it with the French. You have my deepest sympathies, we have to protect the worthless idiots but you have to live with them.....

Canada became an indpendent country without having to revolt against the British. In fact we have adopted their government structure and remain within the British commonwealth. I have no problem with that. I wouldn't question Canadian "balls" as history shows the US had their in the sand for the two world wars. WW 2 started for Canada & most of Europe in Sept. 1939 but it wasn't until the Japs kicked the US in the ass in Pear Harbour, Dec. 1941, they finally decided to join the war effort.

On a side note Mr. Bush has found that having the Brit's on his side is a good thing too !

Ah, yes, the late to WWII one. OK, so the lesson for those paying attention of WWII was that EVERYONE was late, ask the Czechs if you were late.

The Brit's don't have a shortage of balls......

The Bloc does this on purpose. The get a rise out of English Canada so that we lash out at Quebec and inevitably someone says something completely insulting to Quebec. The separatists will organize and start chanting, "come see the violence inherent in the system" and talk of “being oppressed.

Monty Python saw this coming years ago.

I don't understand why, the next time they threaten to leave, you don’t offer to help them pack.

Besides that we don't really need him.

Seriously, a country divided will not stand.

How small can a person be and think? I can't imagine this man in his position can be so stupid as to do this. I have got to believe that his motivation is to provoke Canadians, be they French or English or any other heritage. The thinking has got to be that the more they can provoke Canadians, the more critisism the French people will get and in the end the easier it will be to seperate. After the papers and other news media publish the obvious reaction which is often a sweeping critisim of Quebec, they are able to say "see, we have no place in Canada. If this is the the motiation they are small minded , hateful people who do not deserve much of our attention, which is what they want.
I do think a quick well thought out comment from the Prime Minister over this incident would be in order than drop it.

Maybe I'll stay put. Neither the neo-Cons nor the
Evangelical Christians are that divisive.

Is there something in the French diet that wacks them out like that?
Maybe the guys have too much poutine..who knows.

There must be something in the water supply for the girls. I have never seen more liberal girls since Amsterdam.

I think my concern with Quebec seperatist is the reach on the rest of the country. The second there is talk of leaving, hundreds rush to Ottawa with signs "we love you, don't go"

Quebec reminds me of a 31 y/o son still living at home. They will always have a election party, but never by majority. If bend on leaving, don't talk about it... just do it. Hey It would make a great Nike story.
Ahhhh, beauty AND brains. Kathleen, se molto bella

Yes, you waited until 3 countries had been invaded before you joined the war (when it was finally a direct threat to Mother England) and we waited longer because it didn't threaten us (at all actually). Roosevelt was a strong proponent of entering the war earlier but the US population was still in an isolationist mood due to the waste of WWI. All Congress would allow him to do was to send supplies and arms, which he did. All evil needs is for good men to do nothing - something we are all guilty of sunshine.

They next time they have a referendum on separation the rest of Canada should hold a referendum to join them. That will piss them off!

But it's not that easy OTB. What if Texas voted to leave? How would the rest of the states react?
