Meanwhile, the lefties, who are pretty much everything they accuse other of being(especially when it comes to racism) expose themselves at the political level as anti-semetic again.

No, I am not talking about the democrats in the US that coddle Ilhan Omar, not the labor party in the UK that was denounced by the chief Rabbi of the UK as being anti-semetic through and through. No folks, it is right here with the NDP. Gotta love how they want to name streets after nazi officers and it turns out that this is why Bob Rae left the party. Go away Charlemagne. We know exactly what you are all about. Fake woke.

LILLEY: Jewish members leave Ontario NDP over alleged anti-Semitism (msn.com)

The NDP is dismissing new allegations of anti-Semitism, including against current MPP and candidate Jill Andrew.

The allegations are coming from two Jewish members – a former candidate and a former riding president – who say they are splitting with the party over the ongoing tolerance of anti-Semitism inside the NDP.

“I didn’t leave the party, the party left me,” said the former candidate who asked not to be named.

Emma Cunningham, president of the Pickering-Uxbridge riding association until earlier this year, said she tried to work with the party on anti-Semitism and to make it a welcoming place for Jewish people like herself but had to walk away.

The final straw for her was the appointment of Steve Parish as the candidate for Ajax and his support for naming a street after a Nazi naval officer despite protests from local Jewish groups.

“For me to vote for them, I’d need to see change, and they’d need to admit there is a problem and describe how they will fix it,” Cunningham said.

She said that there is a fine line between legitimate criticisms of Israel and anti-Semitism, adding that too often the NDP cross that line.

The former candidate who had been active in the NDP since the early 1980s, running three times in a Toronto riding before deciding to part ways with the party last month, says that was his experience.

He had been working with party executives on a complaint of harassment and anti-Semitism against Toronto St. Paul MPP Jill Andrew for two years when party president Janelle Brady said they’d have to wait until after the election to deal with the matter.

In March 2020, the former candidate was speaking to a motion at a meeting of the NDP’s provincial council. A bill had been presented in the Ontario legislature calling for the government to adopt the working definition of anti-Semitism put forward by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. While supported by the Progressive Conservatives and the Liberals, the bill split the NDP.

A motion was put forward at the NDP provincial council meeting calling for the party to instruct MPPs to vote against the bill and reject the definition of anti-Semitism. After speaking at the meeting against the motion and calling for the NDP to adopt the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism, the candidate said he was approached by Andrew and verbally harassed.

“Andrew walked across the room, sat down next to me, and verbally threatened me with consequences if I should speak on the issue again,” the former candidate wrote in an email to the party president.

After reporting this behaviour with the NDP’s anti-harassment officer, he said that Andrew was verbally abusive again in full view of others.

“Andrew twice more berated me in public at council, including shouting that I was a ‘cancer’ that needed to be excised from the party,” the email stated.

Despite assurances that an internal investigation would take place and the matter would be dealt with, the former candidate said nothing happened until he retained a lawyer to represent him with the party brass. There was an interview via Zoom in January 2021 and then silence on reaching a conclusion.

“The Ontario NDP takes accusations of bullying, harassment and anti-Semitism very seriously and has a comprehensive policy in place to thoroughly investigate any such allegations,” the party said when asked for a comment.

As for this individual case, they blame him, saying he walked away from the process, something the former candidate denies.

“The refusal of the party at its highest levels to explicitly condemn anti-Semitism when it occurs within the party is inexcusable,” he said in a recent interview.

A complaint was also lodged by Toronto St. Paul’s Federal and Provincial riding association members

against the former candidate for alleged harassment and bullying. The complaint was not resolved.

Sadly, the NDP, the first party in Canada to elect Jewish leaders, has let anti-Semitism creep into its ranks for a long time. It’s one of the reasons Bob Rae, the first and only NDP premier, cited for breaking with the NDP 20 years ago.

It’s also why party stalwarts, like those who put their names on the ballot or organize local election campaigns, are breaking with the NDP today.

No party should allow bigotry to fester in their ranks; the problem with today’s New Democrats is they don’t even recognize that it is happening."
WTF do these have to do with the topic at hand??? Clearly some of you guys have too much time on your hands.

Its not racist to say someone is a zionist or to be critical of zionism.
Otherwise you'd have to admit that fully 25% of US Jews are antisemitic as they believe Israel to be apartheid, not to mention how many are now against colonialism.

Maybe I'm off base here, but if you're claiming to be against racism you should definitely not be backing apartheid.
We know how your anti-semetic tropes and micro-aggressions work.

Racist.

Racism is racism. It can't be separated from one example to another. Unfortunately, those who are most loud about it in society are the worst examples of all.

Why is racism any worse than thuggery?

If someone comes from behind me with a baseball bat and kills me,
1) Because of my race, or
2) Because they want to steal my money...

I say there is no difference.

If you believe so, then please explain why my death from a mugging is worth less than a holocaust murder.

Therefore if I am killed because someone wants my money, I am INDIVIDUALLY just as hard done by as an INDIVIDUAL who was killed in the holocaust.

Or the Armenian genocide, or the Rwandan genocide, or the murders in buffalo, or sex serial killers, or Hussites marauding 600 years ago, or lynchings, or poisonings, or gangland murders, drive by shootings, or any other crime.

If you believe in collective, group identity rights, then you automatically do not (fully) believe in individual rights.

Yes, racism is racism.
Apartheid is an incredibly severe form of racism.
If you can't call it out, don't call out anyone else for racism, or expect anyone else to take you seriously.

I don't know who derailed this thread, but its typical.
If you're here to call out racism you need to call out racism against all peoples, black Canadians, indigenous, Muslims, etc and anti-semitism.

This city took one step forward after the BLM protests, but its clear after the convoy and Buffalo that we've taken two steps back now.
If you want to end racism you need to stand up against racism against all peoples, including Palestinians and Jews together.
Not to mention all the Canadians suffering.

Amazing how you can compare yourself to a Holocaust victim or the victims of one of the many genocides. You snowflakes want to be victims so bad it’s ridiculous

I have no idea what you are trying to say here, redshank.
All I know is that it seems like the anti vaxxer convoy appears to be part of a right wing pushback against the BLM, BIPOC protests.
It seems like the great replacement, right wing, Fox crap is infecting our country and making life worse for Canadians.

It’s almost as if the ones who constantly accused others of being “sheep” were the ones who were actually the sheep this whole time.

You are damn right, if someone outright murders someone, why is teh CAUSE of that murder make it any worse than any other random cause?

If my child was randomly killed by someone, that is just as evil as a holocaust death. If you disagree, explain why.

That is why I disagree with all this hate crime nonsense. If a guy hates the fact that I am rich and kills me, thats also a hate crime.

A stand is going to take place next year against the disgusting racists. The supreme court of the US and one of the longest serving justices, a black man, is going to strike down the racist affirmative action laws in the belief that all people are equal and should be judged by the content of their character, not the colour of their skin.

What a shame that the left betrayed that dream.

Thank goodness you straightened that out. I thought the fact that all those black people in the 25 most wanted might actually mean something. Apparently, to be ignored. I thought that the repeated shootings by blacks at a rate way out of proportion to population percentage might mean something. Apparently not. Perhaps the media is racist for covering it so much. Look at the CBC....
...
Still waiting for you to put forward your actual views.

I've stated my view (and given sources) that violent crime is closely tied to poverty and have shown that violent crime rates in Canada are most common in whatever ethnicities are poor in those regions. Again, actual data says Asians are the most represented in the Vancouver area, First Nations in the north/Prairies, Blacks in the GTA and Montreal, and Caucasians Down East.

Do you actually think the predilection for violent crime is tied to skin colour in the GTA but not the rest of the country? Or do you think that "black culture" is responsible (and causing Asians, Indigenous, and whites to be violent too)?

Have you even bothered to think through what your views actually are other than the knee jerk response you've been fed from American media?

I have said it many times but I will repeat it one last time. It is the social structure, which is cohesive and full of discipline in Africa and largely tattered of blacks in the GTA. A poor, cohesive, black family anywhere has a much greater chance of raising successful children than a single black mother due to the lack of supervision of the latter. It is not economics.
So you think that discipline instilled in African families suddenly falls apart when people leave the continent? And what about blacks who's ancestors haven't been in Africa for 400+ years? How does your thesis apply there? Or for that matter, how does it apply to the non-black criminals out there.

Sorry but in a North American context, the outcomes from children in single parent families is highly dependent on money. Plenty of rich kids out there with divorced parents. Want to make a guess at why Drake became so successful despite no dad in the picture?

And just yesterday. Just yesterday. Shootings, stabbings, killings. Life means absolutely nothing to these thugs. But how would any of us turn out if raised under those circumstances?
What skin colour were the two latest mass shooters in the US?

I don't even care about what scum bag Zionists like Basketcase think, people like him are part of the problem. He benefits from the oppressive system too.
...
Wha Wha. Now I'm all upset.

And yes, no shit I've benefitted from being white. I've been very clear about my observations of how my life turned out different than many of my non-white childhood friends. Obviously I can't change the skin colour I was born with but I sure can speak up about what I see wrong in the world. Sadly you don't seem capable of observing the world around you and identifying what changes positive you can make (other than call people names 😛)

No surprise that in academic leftist circles there is anti-semitism. Plenty of post-colonialist academics still carry the Victorian view that non-whites need their help. They are a counter-point to the right wing voices that like to denigrate non-whites and promote ideas about the threat from immigrants and replacement theory.

Though I would like more information on this other than a Sun rant against the NDP.

Shit. Are you really asking what the difference is between a highly systematic government campaign to segregate and then exterminate people because of their race, religion, etc. and a thug wanting to steal your wallet?

And words have meaning. You can't co-opt the term and apply it to a completely different situation without exposing your racist double-standard.

So violence inspired by conspiracy theories about immigrants coming to replace you is bad right? So the Arab mob violence against longstanding Jewish communities simply because other Jews were immigrating to the area...

But I'm sure you'll come up with differences that have nothing in common with the justifications the Buffalo shooter used.

...What a shame that the left betrayed that dream.
If you want to actually discuss the idea, I'd be happy as it is quite interesting. If you'd rather just stay dogmatic...

The left has moved society hugely forward and created the society we currently have. As always, there are the fringe elements (on each side), the hopeful views that society isn't ready to accept, and those who get society to accept incremental change. The right has people who are willing to accept a little change, the people who want to keep things the way they are, and the people who want to reverse the progress of society to whatever time they fixate on as being the 'good times'. And there are accelerationists on both sides who want to see society torn down thinking that somehow their utopia will be the end result.

p.s. Franky is happy to call out anti-semitism from the right but puts the blinders on (or cheers along) when it comes from the left or from Muslim sources (who really are often highly conservative).
