"Throughout the case, the defence claimed that Watson was never paid for preparing the reports and was doing it merely as a favour to friends while under the impression that the crashes were real."

Even if he wasn't paid, falsely preparing those reports should carry a hefty penalty. But I doubt he did it solely to support his friend when he had medical bills for his wife stacking up at home.

Not sure him being black has anything to do with it. Dude did something illegal and put the public's trust behind his own selfish interest.

And "coloured"? LOL

So far the only cop that was criminally convicted in the G20 scandal was also a non-white cop... the other white cop that was also charged was A C Q U I T T ED!!!

His brothers in blue did not come to his rescue in the end.....I am not saying he does not deserve it, it just illustrates the racism of the institution.

Is the color of his skin really relevant to the story? What ever happened to the quality of character over skin color?(or lack of there of) Is this a case of scratch a lefty and reveal a racist, again?

And no doubt he was charged by a white guy, prosecuted by a white crown attorney, judged by a white jury and sentenced by a white Judge.

likely innocent and racism involved :)

How would they; hack the computers and erase the reports he filed? It wasn't a he said/she said. He was convicted based on the actual reports he filed.

Another awesome example of people trying to make something about race that simply isn't.

1 - a police officer committed fraud
2 - said officer was convicted

There is NO reason to bring up race unless you are trying to stir the pot...

I agree. When I first read the title of the thread, I thought to myself, 'what did he do, tell people he was white, asian, or some other colour?'. I didn't know that was a chargeable offense. He would have been better off living in the States and becoming head of the NAACP.
