what is he doing now? The guy was my all times favourite...
Remember "Mick Jagger fucks young girls for one reason - BECAUSE HE CAN!...men are only as loyal as their options" so true...

Never the safest place
I like Maher because he's not afraid to be brutally honest, particularly about sex and the way men and women relate to each other. He points out how phony that usually is. The example you gave is like that. He acknowledged using the services of a sex worker when he could easily have denied it. He acknowledges he's not that interested in having kids or being married. Many women can't stand him, partly because he's ugly, but mostly because they are offended or upset by the truths he tells.

Mahar was never a great standup for my taste, but while his TV show was running, he was able to find many guests that I never found anywhere else in an interview/talkshow format.

I never thought he was all that funny. Never really thought he was all that smart either. Also, I'm not convinced that he's the rebel he makes himself out to be.

I disagree zydeco. He's not actually funny in the sense of a LMFAO comic but... Bill Mahar is so brutally honest. One can tell he's in it for shock value as well as to push people's buttons. I enjoyed his HBO specials because of that reason.

Bill Maher delivered one of my all-time favorite funny lines. It was during the Bill Clinton/Gennifer Flowers controversy and the line was...

I can't believe he got in so much trouble just for offering her a position on the Governer's staff.

Where the HELL do you live that you can't see the likes of Anne Coulter anywhere else, and can I move there?! I used to love his monologs, but the rest of his show was three bozos and a rightwing flack who steamrolled them

I had a g/f in university who looked like Alyson Hannigan (from Buffy) who was the show once in a while...

Anne Coulter

Is that the lawyer with the long blonde hair? Kind of a Carolyn Bessette Kennedy look-a-like.

I think Bill rocks!
He tells it like it is, plain and simple.
If everyone thought like he does the world would be a more cynical but much more realisitc place!

Bill Maher, like George Carlin, seems to have a knack for deconstructing political correctness and cultural programming. its quite brilliant.

they make people think and that scares the powers that be...

I miss Politically Incorrect with Bill, [his tv show]

does anyone know if its been released on DVD like almost every other tv show in history??

If I don't cross the line once in a while...how the hell do I know where it is?

I always find that those who hate Bill Maher are usually people threatened by the endless stream of truth that rolled out of his mouth.

He was an original. He has now been declawed and it will never be the same.
Curious how Max Headroom was cancelled after only 16 episodes in the 80s. allegedly because it made kids stuttter... but gee, the episode about homeless people being organ harvested to keep rich assholes alive did make me think... ;-)

now THAT i would buy instantly on DVD... ooh that would be GREAT!

Personally, I think it's miraculous that P.I. lasted as long as it did.

Maher was smart: a lot of the truths came under the cover of humour.

These days, when he shows up on Larry King on the odd Friday night, he still lets it rip.

Cybergoth - I see you mentioned both Maher and Carlin. Personally I dont think that Bill Maher is in the same league as Geroge Carlin. Just my opinion of course - I know he's extremely popular- so no doubt alot of folks would disagree.
