There's nothing like old white guys yelling that there is no systematic racism.
Just that everyone of colour is not a 'rational decent' person.
It does seem like he was wrong, though.
As is usually the case with these sorts of things, he was being careful about what "facts" he used in order to pretend his case was stronger than it is.
Maybe but his case was still fairly strong. When he says that going ultra woke offends people sense of normalcy and makes even liberal people vote conservative he is not wrong.

So it was technically true, but misleadingly framed so that Maher could blame "wokism".

Actually, he offered very little proof of that.
He offered little proof Canada had gone "ultra woke" (especially since that is an empty phrase that doesn't mean anything) and he offered little proof that going "ultra woke" is the reason for the problems he highlighted.
His case was very weak unless you already believed that to be true.
We all should be thanking Bullshit Bill Maher for painting a dire picture of Canada. If people think they should not come because they listened to a talking head then we are a better country for it.
