This went in for decades and was hushed up. ABC News hushed up Andrew to gain access to Will and Kate for the Wedding. Look at Weinstein.

Powerful people can call powerful people and kill stories.
Do you know if that is a proven fact or is that a conspiracy theory?

I find that there is so much bullshit that flies around stories like this that I lose track of fact vs conspiracy theorizing vs urban myth etc. I can’t keep up with it and I don’t care to even try...lol.

A Reporter with ABC talked about it on set and it was released. Should be up on YouTube. Look what Trump did with the National Enquirer.

Happens all the time.

Okay...I looked it up and found this from the BBC:

The video you are describing is from Project Veritas who are notorious for spreading disinformation to discredit mainstream media.

In follow up interviews with ABC and the journalist:
How have ABC responded?
In a statement after the footage leaked, ABC stood by its decision not to air the interview, saying the reporting did not meet its standards.
"But we have never stopped investigating the story," the statement continues, adding that "substantial resources" had been dedicated to investigating Epstein.
In a separate statement, Robach said she "was caught in a private moment of frustration" last summer as the Epstein story unfolded.
She said she was "upset that an important interview I had conducted with Virginia Roberts didn't air because we could not obtain sufficient corroborating evidence" to meet ABC's editorial standards.
"My comments about Prince Andrew and her allegation that she had seen Bill Clinton on Epstein's private island were in reference to what Virginia Roberts said in that interview in 2015.
"I was referencing her allegation - not what ABC News had verified through our reporting."
She added that "in the years since no one ever told me or the team to stop reporting" on Epstein.

So...this is exactly my point. You talk about this like it is a proven fact when in actuality it is far from it. This is just speculation and disinformation from a shady source.

And so many things around the Epstein story are like this and I don’t have the time, interest, or energy to go around constantly fact checking these things.

Didn't meet standards? In light of recent information?

I said they shut it down. And the BBC (your source) is reporting on it. That's makes it legit. ABC shut it down. The reporter wanted to keep her job. She was telling the truth and caught on camera. Backtracked. That's what happened.

That really sums up butler at this point.
He's going off the deep end trying to defend Trump, I mean Sanders.

Only a real true Bernie Sanders supporter would go to this much trouble.

Yes. It didn’t meet their standards at the time. They weren’t able to corroborate the allegations so they didn’t publish. That sounds reasonable...you cannot disprove it- you’re just believing something because you want it to be true for some reason...but it’s not.

This is the kind of thinking that enables the spread of conspiracy theories and disinformation.

That's par for the course. If it reaffirms his priors, it must be true.

She said it at the time. Then backtracked. That's the point. Why say it was killed for one reason then backtrack? To save her career. That's why.

She didn’t backtrack. Nothing she said on the tape is inconsistent with her subsequent statements.

She interviewed a woman in 2015 who made allegations about Epstein.

In 2019, she is recorded voicing frustration about not having been able to air the interview. She makes comments about pressure from Buckingham Palace (which is probably true)...but she never states that is why the story was not aired. She is basically expressing frustration that “if we’d known then what we know now” we could have aired this story long ago.

But we didn’t know then what we know now...and with no other independent corroboration of this young woman’s story it did not meet ABC News’ journalistic standards for publication so they did not publish it.

There is no backtracking. There is no scandal. This is a fake news story from Project Veritas that you are going around pedalling as though it is an established fact. But it’s not...in fact, it’s the opposite.

This is why I don’t spend a lot of time jumping down these rabbit holes because this is always what happens. I don’t even care about this stupid story. You’re the one who brought it up; I knew nothing about it until today. And I asked you, sincerely, if this was a conspiracy theory or a fact...and you assured me it was a fact. But a brief fact checking expedition on Google revealed this to be total bs...and now you are still arguing with me?

I tried to be nice to you and this is what I get? This is why nobody likes you, Butler1000.

Pressure from the Palace. Specifically to deny access. And it would have been the news division heads that killed it.

They had enough. They were just too scared to report it. They could have been the brave ones to open the floodgates. Instead it was a Miami Herald reporter. Who was brave enough. They have ran stories with less. But because it was Andrew they killed it. For access to Will and Kate.

I ain't here for the likes. Might want to work on your self esteem if that's what you need to get through the day.

Last I checked, news agencies report on the information they have confirmed, not on information which may be confirmed years later.
Except they don't. How many times have they got it wrong on speculation?

Russia Russia Russia comes to mind.

You seem not to know the difference between investigative reporting and filling the time for the 24h news cycle.

As for excuses for Russia, I think all those reports from US intelligence circles about Russian interference make it news, even if the Republican Senate refuses to look into it.
