It didn't take long did it. He's already killed Keystone XL and diverting Pfizer vaccine intended for Canada back to the U.S. (how else could he vaccinate 100 mm Americans in 100 days?).

Doesn't take long to see people complaining about him. Sort of like fox news complaining he wasn't wearing a mask at the podium while talking about covid (after spending the campaign complaining he wore a mask some times he spoke).

Keystone will have an economic impact on both countries.

The US has a large Pfizer plant dedicated to their massive order for the vaccine + moderna. Canada's Vax comes from Europe. As for KXL, its their country. if they don't wanna buy our oil its their choice.

It shouldn't be hard for Biden to reach that target. The Americans were averaging just about 900,00 doses per day in the week before he took over and on the 20th they did 1.6 million doses. If California gets it's act together they will be so far ahead of Canada it won't be funny.

This is what happens when one (Canada) depends on the kindness of strangers for one's vaccine. They will always take care of their own first.

Hard working Mexicans and Chinese took jobs from lazy Canadian and American overpaid slobs.

Now lazy, overpaid American slobs are taking jobs from lazy, overpaid Canadian slobs.

And yes, we need oil sands.

Oil sands from VENEZUELA.

Canadian oil sands = MEH.

The only job of Canada is do-nothing paper pushers , do-nothing immigrants and building condos for them, and do-nothing retailers selling garbage in the mall.

Canada = do nothing, lazy and overpaid with useless oil.

Capiche !!!

Trump's policy was 'America First'. Killing Keystone is a
reversal of Trump's policy. This policy change along with
diverting the vaccine are nonetheless policies guided by
Trump's 'America First' spirit in Biden's style.

Forget oil, hydrocarbon is the new oil, Alberta just needs to retool and boom (no pun inten...)

I think in the long term the power industry will coalesce towards hydrogen, but it won't happen in Alberta, more likely to happen in Ontario and BC. As a medium for storing power, the efficiency is 70-80%, it is competitive with pumped hydro storage in terms of efficiency. Hydrogen-powered cars though might be too dangerous but that might change with new material science.

Funny enough, self made billionaire Andrew Forest said a few days ago that hydrogen would be a great green energy alternative for cars as opposed to Tesla, he even insulted Elon. Good publicity, I doubt Elon will respond since he's top dog in the world but you never know.

Hydrogen storage is the big issue, they still haven't got a safe and cheap method yet.

And this is where I exit, the conversation, I know my limits and have no problem admitting them. lol

All I do know is, we should have been on renewables decades ago.
Fun fact I didn't know, Jimmy Carter put solar panels on the roof of the White House and good ol' Reagan had them taken down.
Oil industry $$$

It's lighter than helium? Who knew.

Time to turn off the electricity at Niagara Falls and Churchill Falls. See how the Yanks enjoy freezing in the dark for a few days.

I heard Keystone XL is 40% finished. Can they mothball it until a future sane president desperate for oil allows it to be brought back to life again?
