Im sitting here chowing down on some great hot wings! Joe Alfredos on Simcoe St N in Oshawa makes some awsome wings! Ive tried Jack Fillin Station's wings who they claim to be the best in Durham...(they arent). Im on a wing kick and would love to hear any other thoughts on great wings in this area.

Miranda you gotta try these!

jacks has won the wing competition at the sikorski hall the last 5 years, which is voted on by the public.so its not really a claim, more like a badge of honour bestowed upon them.

The Wing Shack in Whitby is pretty good. Lots of "hotness" to choose from.

I've heard Buffalo Wings & Ribs on Thorton/Hwy 2 are pretty good but have never tried them myself.

Great Wings

Do yourselves a favor and come to Buffalo. Several outstanding spots in and around town. I doubt you'll ever find any as good as where they started.

I've sampled them all over the country, a few are close, but none as good.

Just my humble 2 cents worth.

By the way, the trip to Niagara Falls (Ginger, Willow, Riley, Leah, etc.) is worth it as well.

Durham Hot Wings

I've been to the anchor bar in buffalo and that's what I compare hot wings to. I like them hot without the bucket of sauce leftover. Hard to find but Don Cherry's at Champlain and the 401 makes a good wing. Don't like that the health board wrote them up. Firkin wings near the old post office in Whitby 25 cents Monday and Thursday. Saucy but the price is right. Suicide wings limit me to 10. What takes away the heat? I've been partial to Peppermint schnapps on ice. Any other suggestions?

Say, speaking of Oshawa, is Mister Burger still around? I'm not a big Elvis fan, but I loved their steak and onion burgers. Their milkshakes rocked, too.

Cheers,

I heard the Filling Station was one of the best places to go around here, so I like the head's up on other places. Right up the street, I remember the wings I used to get at Mickey Finn's when I was a regular for Monday night football. They had big wings, nice sauce and the barchicks used to Macarena on the bar. They were alright to do that, but that was a few years ago and I suspect that novelty wore off...

Mickey Finns is now shut down from what i have heard. They tried to make a go of it and even renovated over the last year. Had bikini contests and even Alan Frew from Glass Tiger sang there. Gee I wonder what went wrong? LOL anyway Jacks Fillin Station Wings are good but not close to the best IMHO.

Then you'll want to try the wings at The Bulldog (Grandview & Bloor). Best wings in Oshawa I say. Funny enough, the same owners as Joe Alfredos!

Best in Ajax, Magwyers, hands down. Arguably the best in all of Durham. (Magwyers also used to be owned by the same folks, and although they've sold it, the new owners have kept up the great menu)

If they are the same owners id guess theres a good chance they are the exact same wings for the most part. BUT in my ever exhausting search to find the best wings. I'll head over to the Bulldog and check em out. Thank Arbey. Maybe ill get off the 401 in Ajax someday and eat there too

I worked near the Wing Shack in Whitby. If they need me back, I'll have to try it.

Best wings

I have tried the wings at the wing shack because people say they are good. They weren't bad but they were very small. By far some of the best wings in Durham can be found at MacGwyers in Ajax or the Bull Dog in Oshawa.
