Did anyone else catch the premier of Dead Like Me on TMN last week? Very weird, but very well done. Cut from the Six Feet Under cloth.

I'm impressed that there was not a single mention of 'Friends'.

Nip/Tuck

A new show called Nip/Tuck premiered on CTV last night. It's about plastic surgeons.

The show was terrific. Quite riveting at times, gory scenes of plastic surgery and some sex. Very entertaining.

yeah ...Dead Like Me ..did have some dark humour in it...I would watch it again...
Keep watching....we're up to the 11th episode here and the humor keeps getting subtler and darker. Wait for the episode when Mandy Patakin takes over a short order cook or when Jasmine Guy accidently has one guy believing she's God......

Quirky show, but it's turning out to be fun to watch....

24--always good for a few surprises. although the daughter is starting get on my nerves
The Gilmore Girls--consistently well written reminiscent of Noel Coward
The West Wing--the first season was the best

Very late, I know, but given how much time I have spent in my life watching TV, I feel it would be remiss of me to not add my two cents...

Of recent vintage...

The Simpsons
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Seinfeld
Friends

Of slightly older vintage

Moonlighting
Remington Steele
Family Ties

An older show, which I don't think anyone mentioned, but I still think it is one of the most hilarious shows ever made, was The Odd Couple. Ditto for The Dick Van Dyke Show.

Great TV Shows...

In my opinion, there is no show on the air today that can match the quality of writing on "The West Wing".

That show is so well-written, I'm surprised that it's as popular as it is. The great unwashed usually tend to prefer more low-brow humour but, thankfully, there are enough of us who enjoy quality wit to keep this show on the air.

I second the votes for All in the Family and Barney Miller...two great shows that still work more than two decades later.

Neglected to add my vehement agreement that WKRP in Cincinnati goes on this list. That was a great show, vastly underrated.

On my favorite guilty pleasure list, I admit it, I really liked Melrose Place.

Had to bump this old thread in honor of Gordon (Big Guy) Jump, who passed away yesterday. WKRP in Cincinnati was an awesome show, and he was damn funny in it.

The less said about his work as the Maytag repairman, the better.
