It seems that its a total turn off for women, and I think it significantly reduces the usefulness of the site.
I mostly got annoyed and stopped using the site. Why? it seems that I there are a lot of random messages from people. Some of them very far away, and they just don't answer either.
If you are going to bother, I guess you had better get the ultra-premium account such that people with the no-frills account (i.e. $0) can reply to you.

The % of guys looking for girls far outweigh the other way around but every now and then you can find some hidden gems. Indies have also found their ways to that section of the site...i have seen a few posts every now and again, nothing wrong with that, everyone deserves to make a buck LOL.
Kijiji also has a *casual encounter* section although it's not as varied and busy as CL and the other mentioned sites.

I've checked out most of them and they all pretty much have various levels of scams going on. At least POF is free and Canadian. But even there, never found anything that paid off.
