Mine

1. Stones
2. Led Zep
3. Pink Floyd
4. Hendrix
5. Love him or hate him Bob Dylan
6. Ramones listen b4 you did them

Stones who has come close for quality for so long?

Also music is from the hip, when it is intellectual, it becomes shit.

Funny thing.... some of the best music was written during periods of extreme drug addiction.

As u may have guessed, I don't think there is anything the Stones made that I don't own.

Except I'd like to throw away some of Mick Jagger's solo albums - honestly don't know what the F### he would do without Keith to set him straight.

Did u get a load of his latest solo album? Can't believe that a man from this band would put something like that out....bothers me...
shit ... won't be able to sleep again tonite.

LIVE, I don't think there was any better than Led Zep..... Page was just stunning.

I'll give the WHo an honourable mention.

Elvis (not a fan of his music, but look what he did for rock)
Talking Heads
Not an Elvis fan? The Clash knew what they were doing when they paid homage to him with London Calling... never used to be an Elvis fan til I bought the Memphis Record.. then everything changed (looove "Stranger in my own Hometown"...)...

For me the list is:
o Elvis
o Stones
o Sex Pistols (then, not now)
o Dylan w/The Band (wow)

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
Never the Beatles(just like Backstreet Boys, and NSYNC). The Who and Led Zep were(are) much better than the Beatles or Stones. I'm surprised nobody said Milli Vannilli.

Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
Aerosmith
Black Sabbath
Rush

(if you want to stay within the "hard rock" category only, which most of these helped define).

If you're talking most important and/or influential artist there is no debate whatsoever that the Beatles and Elvis Presley are head and shoulders above anyone else. No other artists had anywhere close to the impact those 2 had on actually changing our world by influencing the youth of the day.

If you're talking best, well then, it's all a matter of personal taste and it would be impossible to reach a consensus. I won't bore you with my favorites.
