You have to be joking, my Italian cook says it is a disgrace to his nation.

Sotto Sotto nice romantic spot
Biagio nice patio for summer

Other spots with good food: La Fenice, Coppi, Il Posto Nuovo, Mamminas (best price for wines)

Try Little Anthony's, 121 Richmond W at York St. A little pricy but incredible food and great atmosphere.

Hey Willy, I didn't realize you were a west end boy. You're right, Monte Bello's is a great place.

Wow Willy you must be my neighbour!????
I have eaten at Monte Bellos manytimes till once I was there with an ex of mine, she had the seafood linguini.she was extremely sick after.I had the scampi and was fine!!
It's very small ,havent been there for awhile but noticed they added a bar.
Not sure if they still allow smoking in there???really does'nt make sense to have a non-smoking section because they literally put you right beside the smokers!:)

Sophia,

you beat me to it! although you're a lovely dining experience, you're not always in Toronto and I somehow think that he was looking for an in-call feast (something you rarely offer)

Trattoria Giancarlo (Clinton@College has been one of my faves for ears)

Carlo & Adelina's (Markham St. around the corner from Honest Ed's 0 some of the best Northern italian food in the City)

Gave Up On Latina's!

Used to go to Latina quite often but I could never get over how snooty the wait staff was!
Great ambience, if not a bit too formal, good food, but uncomfortable!
Got a tip about Monte Bello and have been going there ever since!
Terrific ownership! He will periodically comp an after dinner Sambucca for his regulars!
There's also a great banquet room downstairs for stags!
It's really about the food though, isn't it?? Regardless of where one goes!

Howdy neighbours! Wish you'd mow your friggin' lawn, the neighbourhood's a disgrace! Lol!

Downtown
I highly Recommend Sotto Sotto which is on Avenue Road just north of bloor...small and sometimes hard to get a rez...but i will say that it is very dark, cozy, and has the best food in the city...less pricy than Centro too....my favourite in the city!
Good luck.....

Betwixt her thighs ideally!
Blue Eyes!

While we foxes may not be enjoying the garbage strike as much as Hepcat and his fellow felines (see MBB), my tastes in dining are anything but toney. See the recent post on "Lunch Counters" in the Lounge!

Damn franchises!

A pox on Pizza Nova!

They bought out Mingo's, a modest Italo-Argentine restaurant that used to make the best panzerottis, calzones and empenadas I've ever tasted. Now it's become generic franchise crap.

Pizza Nova va fan cul!

Oh well, at least Ital Pizza is still around. Try their vegetarian pizza with roasted red peppers, it's to die for.

Le Bruschetta on St. Clair Ave. West

This is a Ma and Pa restaurant on St. Clair Ave. West which is between Dufferin and Lansdowne on the South side. This place has authentic home style Italian food. A big article was written in the Toronto Star about this place a couple of weeks ago.
Alot of celebrities go here and the place is well known to be frequented by these celebrities who autograph these white dishes and are placed on the walls of the restaurant. There are hundreds of these plates on the wall. Oh I forgot to say that the food is excellent. This place is a must for Italian food lovers.
