Since no location was specified, here are a couple of the best burger places I've found outside of Toronto...

Absolute best: Port 'O Call in New Orleans. They take an entire sirloin steak, put it through the grinder and fry it up.

Also excellent: Ted Peter's in St. Petersburg, FL

While it's no longer around, there used to be a place in Montreal called Piazza Tomasso that served one of the most delicious burgers ever. It wasn't on the menu but could be special ordered. Didn't even taste like ground beef but was quite sweet. Someone once told me that they used horsemeat. Whatever... it tasted great.

I still like the burgers at C&W's on Dundas just west of Diamonds Cabaret. My parents first went there like 38 years ago.

Sonny's burgers in Brampton at Queen and Kennedy were excellent 10 years ago.

I must admit I really like Lick's Cheeseburger with all that shredded cheese piled on it, especially with back bacon.

Oh, and In 'n Out burger in California is pretty good even though the burgers are small.

Lloyd.

Weber's is terribly over rated and to commercial now

Magoo's- Dundas/Royal york in the plaza where Bruno's is which reminds me ....right next door is an italian place called Sinelli's,they make an awsome chicken sandwhich and have great pre-made frozen and fresh foods to take home- little expensive though.

C&W accccck
I believe I remember many years ago a previous owner was accused of using horse meat, but who know's? ever since then I have never gone back.

Lick's- love their Gobbler

Steak King? beside the old Booby Trap - dingy place but make a good burger.

The Rhino- on the southside of Queen St just west of Dufferin.
Cool little trendy artsy bar owned by 2 sisters. awsome burger. grab the ceasar salad instead of fries. they make a mean ceasar!

off topic :lounge/bar/live ent.

If your ever at the Rhino there is a cool little hip bar right next door called "Stones Place". Very low key place .has that Voodoo lounge feel,. lrg plush couches with large flowing draperies and oriental rugs. The place is literally plastard with Rolling Stones memoribilia, if your a Stones fan you'll like this cozy little bar.Great place to have a drink and hang with a female friend

Johnny's is great as it's open late. (like wendy's) costs like 2.20 for a burger. john anderson's has awesome burgers as well.

johnny's: ya, they use frozen burgers, but its the the best place in that part of town. try their souvlaki on a bun!

lick's: lick's used to be great, when they only had 3-4 restaurants. they had fresh cur fries, and it was amazing. sadly, they have gone downhill. still worth visiting, but not cheap.

growing up, my favourite place was P&S, on Sheppard west of leslie. similar burgers to johnny's - but better onion rings! sadly, this place closed a dozen years back when the video store next door wanted to expand. later, other burger places took the space, but have never been as good.
(*drools*) I remember Penis Burger, it was THE best. I am still fond of Toby's Texarkana & thick fries.

Before P&S, I was a huge fan of the Fire Pit at Yonge & Empress ("Nice order of grreasy fries please Johnny!"). They were good until they spread out.

Okay, okay...flame me for saying this but:

Q: Why did Michael Jackson get fired from McDonalds?

A: Because even they had a problem with 40 year-old meat inside 10 year-old buns.

Just had to say that - this thread is about to sink into the abyss!!!

They should name a burger after him
"Mc Mini Mikey Burger"
or
" McMickeybuggary Burger"

I may need a spell check on that last one.
Be gentle on me PLEASE.

Johnny's is the perfect drunk food. I can't count the number of times I stumbled out of one of the pubs just down the street and headed to Johnny's for a cheeseburger and rings. It's amazing to see a lineup at 2am of 30 or 40 other drunken people with the munchies.

best burger

Well, if you're ever in California, (or a few other western states), try the Super Star at Carl's Jr. It's the best big burger I've ever eaten at a chain fast food restaurant. Every time I go through LAX, I always ask a friend there to bring me one while I'm waiting for my connection.
