Who makes the best Hamburger in Toronto or surrounding areas outside the GTA?

I once read there is a place north of Toronto, that makes the best Hamburger around these parts. I think the name started with Star...something....

Anyway, rate the best Hamburger around that has that homemade feeling!!!

I know one of the best burgers I've had has been at a place called "Arnold's" on Lakeshore just east of Brown's line. The place is a bit of a dive (it reminds me of Arnold's on Happy Day's) but I continue to drive out of my way to get a burger there.

Cold Beer, a great burger - I'll continue to go out of my way for one of their burgers.

Try Apache Burger on Dundas near Kipling. In addition to great burgers, their onion rings are out of this world.

I'll second Tulsa's comments about Arnold's and L'Chaim's about Apache. They're the best burgers in the west end.

For the east end I would have to say Johnny's at Sheppard and Victoria Park.

If you're up for something a bit different, try the bison burger (yes, real bison meat) at Scruffy Murphy's (East Mall and Dundas).

best hamburger

If you're thinking of the Golden Star at Yonge a couple of blocks north of Steeles, it's okay but definitely not the best burger place in Toronto. You get a burger maybe one notch above Harvey's and lots of fries.

Best Burger

Place called Charlie's on King West between Spadina & Bathurst. They have 'theme' bugers from different countires. I. E. Mexican, Spanish, Swiss, etc. I don't remember the name of burger I have had there a couple times but it was made with Blue Cheese. A 6 oz burger with lots of Blue Cheese and other garnishes... everything fresh. Ummm Ummm Good!

P.S. Too many fries though...even when I tell them... not too much fries. lol.

I walk that street every night on the way home from work and can't recall seeing it. Can you give slightly more specific instructions? North/south side of street? Cross Street?

Wimpy's on Harwood Ave S in Ajax

I have visited many restaurants and fast food joints in this GTA
I can tell you that Wimpy's on Harwood is great
The burgers are freash
The wait staff have great attitude
The wait staff have short skirts
Nice panties (but who looked ) Pick me
All in all a good place to eat
the only downside is they do not offer enough napkins

johnny's: ya, they use frozen burgers, but its the the best place in that part of town. try their souvlaki on a bun!

lick's: lick's used to be great, when they only had 3-4 restaurants. they had fresh cur fries, and it was amazing. sadly, they have gone downhill. still worth visiting, but not cheap.

growing up, my favourite place was P&S, on Sheppard west of leslie. similar burgers to johnny's - but better onion rings! sadly, this place closed a dozen years back when the video store next door wanted to expand. later, other burger places took the space, but have never been as good.

I know there's one in the Fort Lauderdale area. I stumbled on to it five or so years ago and chatted up the woman taking the cash. Turns out she was the woman who started the original Licks and had moved down to Florida.

Ahhhhh...so many hamburgers, so little time...

O'Neils in Hamilton is great - Weber's up north is also good (I actually order the patties and bring 'em home to cook).

I also think my personal homemade burgers might rank up there in the Western Hemisphere - goes along with my own pasta and scratch sauce to boot.

Hmmmmmm...now where's my damn grill!!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?
