I applaud any who know of the "sons of freedom". they were one of the true great undiscovered canadian rock bands (although they are a little late-80's) who richly deserved better things. big, big guitars and bass.

"You're no good" from the album (CD) Gump was released in 1991. You must be thinking of their first release featuring "Mona Lisa" realeased in 1988.

Switching To Glide / Beat Goes On...man, another GREAT driving song...a bit obscure, but very, very, very kewl...
Good tunes.

Agree with Spode, different beats set the mood for different driving.

For City, like going to work, typically fast upbeat music,
especially Dance music in the morning Z103.5. Lots of tunes are 80's remix. Wakes me up everytime.

Like Royal Gigolos' California Dreaming.
Max Gram's Owner of the Lonely heart
Devine Brown's Old school love
Bananarama's Shy Boy
Black Eye Pea's Where is the love
Fast cars is catchy for few 30 sec but can't stand rest of song.

For Highway driving, especially those long roadtrips (5hr+), nothing beats variation of Dance music and 80's Top tunes to get me to my destination. There are usually a Dance music station in most parts of North America to keep the tunes going, except in the mountains...

The Wanderer
The cars' Drive?
Hotel California
Kiss on my list
Pretty much any Abba's songs Dancing Queen, Fernando, Knowing me, Knowing you, Take a chance on me
