Hopefully Rogers will do the same. All Rogers customer start writing letters and call to tell them we are all switching to Bell.

Despite years of arguments that Bell Canada (BCE) could not sustain offering unlimited Internet access, the company suddenly managed an about-face Monday, announcing the launch of a $10 unlimited Internet add-on option for broadband customers who do not want to worry about their online usage.

Bell customers in Québec and Ontario who choose at least three Bell services (broadband, television, phone, satellite, or wireless service) can qualify for the add-on. Broadband-only customers and those with two qualifying Bell services can also buy unlimited access for an additional $30 a month.

“Canadians are the heaviest Internet users in the world and our time spent online is growing every day,” said Wade Oosterman, president of Bell Mobility and Residential Services. “Thanks to Bell’s massive network investments and the success of the new Fibe network, Bell is taking the lead in maximizing the online experience with affordable unlimited usage options.”

Another factor may be a forthcoming ruling regarding wholesale access to Bell’s network from Canada’s chief telecom regulator, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), rumored to be beneficial to the growing number of independent providers that already offer unlimited access.

Canada’s largest cable and phone companies have imposed usage caps for at least five years, although a few in western Canada have not enforced them. Most providers offer allowances tied to Internet speeds, compelling customers to upgrade to avoid overlimit penalties if they exceed the limit.

Bell’s decision to offer an add-on may force Canadian cable operators, particularly Rogers, to follow suit.

it's a bundle offer. wait till u see the prices. you won't be so thrilled. and the $10 offer is actually $30 with a $20 credit back monthly. this leaves it open for a change in cost later on.

bell / hell has been doing this for years. every few years they start barking and advertising about unlimited. as soon as people switch then cut back to the same shitty 10GB for granny to check her grandchild's e-mails and pics. lol

fuck'm go with little providers which give you more for your $$. then when the big 3 losers telus, rogers or bell buy them look for another little guy lol

my brother just switched up to it. they told him unlimited and gave a decent price for it as well. the problem is they throttle it down to 25mbps and say it is their best high speed.

I just switched to TekSavvy and could not be happier, I was only getting 16Mbs with Rogers and with TS I am getting 22 Mbs. Funny thing is its the same line, even a rogers guy came and installed it. The deal is 300 gig per month for $40 no contract !!!!

Who really gives a fuck, Do you know anyone that goes over 300GB per month?
If so they need to get a life, to little to late. Bell sucks, and know that cable is being offered by several resellers you cam avoid Rogers too.

Rogers does not want you to stream content. They want you to buy Rogers digital offerings, pay rent on the cable box (one per display), use their lousy PVR, etc. etc. This is why they increased the speed of their offerings, but still kept pretty low caps (and charge you a lot of money if you ever exceed those caps).

Once you start streaming outside of Rogers, needing 300GB is not so silly.

I thought the same thing but I'm now starting to notice how much bandwidth is eaten up watching things in HD on Netflix...

Has anyone actually been charged extra for going over their quota, ever?

I had an insider tell me this was nonsense as they never charged anyone for blowing past their quota anyways (because they couldn't).

Perhaps he is blowing smoke? If not, then Bell is blowing smoke. Someone is :)

Yup. Repeatedly by Rogers before I threatened to cancel and they upped my cap. Never a lot of money cuz I kept my eye on it; probably less than $50 over a couple years.

The trouble with quitting rogers Internet is that when u do that they jack your cable tv rate up to compensate. Unless their is an alternative cable tv provider rogers or bell have u by the balls.
So does any one know I there is an alternate cable tv provider. Do we can completely dump bell and rogers ???

On the right
Technically you are never really dumping Bell or Rogers. It is not like TekSavvy or any of the other so called independants own any wire or cable. The only reason they can exist is that the CRTC forces Bell or Rogers to let them use their lines so that the market has some semblance of competition.
