Guys, what makes you stand a girl up (if you ever have?)

My little story: I've known the guy for quite a while. Haven't seen him in about 6 months. past 2 weeks he's been bugging me to get together. we plan to meet up for lunch, and 1/2 an hour after we were supposed to met up and i get a phone call saying he's got a huge pile of work to do etc etc.

In conclusion i've decided being stood up ISN'T an enjoyable experience and having a date alone isn't nearly as fun if there aren't 2 people.

The fact that he called after he was already late makes me think he was telling the truth. If he wasn't truly busy, he probably would have cancelled ahead of time or wouldn't have called at all. When there's piles of work to do, it's not unusual to lose track of the time or other commitments. Not to mention that he was approaching you.

I say give him another chance to make up for it. If he fails to please, drop 'im.

Karma, if you give him another chance and he fails to show then it is obvious that you need to call me! I am a "stand up" guy :D

I would say the guy doesn't really care about keeping dates with you , forget him.

Fact is, hasn't seen you for 6 months , then he calls yet can't show up because all of a sudden he has a huge pile of work . I would ask was the work not there in the morning , could he not spare even 45 minutes or call before , nothing worse than waiting then the person phones after the fact,

Honest, it was work...

I did mean to call...

I better stop before get everyone all jealous to have sweet Karma all to myself.

At least listen to what the guy will do, to make it up to you before deciding whether to dump him. Punish him first then dump him. :p Time for you to put on those high heels and walk over him!

If it was me with a hot date with you, I will be all nervous thinking of the lunch date all morning. Unless it was serious crap at work as he is workaholic. But again, he should set aside few mins to call. Which means work is more important and you are #2. In which case, he is blind, with no class.

If he continues to not appreciate you, don't waste your time, kick his ass, as you deserve better.

The only time I stood-up a women was when I double booked thinking that I can finish off the first girl well before the next one's appointment. Boy was I wrong, so instead of being labeled a "Clock Watcher" on some boards I stayed the full hour with the first girl and gave her the BFE/PSE she ever had. Alas, the second one grew impatient and angry after she tried calling me abouuut 6 times from her cell phone a block away from my place. She ended up leaving and driving frantically to a mp for a release. The next thing I know my name is posted all over a local review board saying how I stood her up and it seems to be common pratice with me. My name is ruined through out the GTA and I have to log on under a different user name and give false reviews of myself to try to attract new clients. It's very difficult to do when you only have 1 post and youre giving 10/10's across the board.

It took me awhile to get my credibility back but after abouuut 2 weeks and 3 different user names I was able to clear my name. I also had to ;) grease a few moderators so they deleted all the negative threads about me but in the end it was all worth it

I am a true BFE...

He's just in that into her.... isn't that something Dr. Phil or Oprah said?? or am i totally off???
I think my ego's just slightly bruised  and i'm a little cyinical and jaded about dating... i alway seem to pick someone who's more of an asshole than i am. LOL THIS is why i haven't gone on a date in MONTHS AND MONTHS

He's Just Not That Into You was one of those quickie books that everyone was talking about last year. Good to read if you need humbling. :D

I believe "He's just not that into you" first was used on an episode of 'Sex and the City' when Ron Livingston's character is explaining to Miranda why a guy she was interested in, didn't call.

I have walked out of a meeting that was running late, for a project worth an obscene amount of money, to make it to a scheduled date.
