Most of the hotels I stayed at had massage services inhouse along with Karaoke rooms.

Massage was about 180RMB (180/8=$22 CAN$) for 90 minutes which turned into more like 2 hours with the included free drinks and food in the lounging area. The girls are very cute and fun but hard to interactive with since most don't speak english just Mandarin. The happy endings were very happy.

The Karaoke rooms you have to get invited into. I found if I hung out and talked to the staff I got invited in to a few. The madame parades about 20 girls in and you select as many girls as you want to sit with you. You hang out drnking, playing dice games and playing around with the girls. When your ready you can take them back to your room if you want for 800RMB ($100 CAN$) for the nite for each girl.

That was my experiences for my 1 month trip.

Of course in China, prostitution is illegal and having an unregistered guest in your room after about 11:30 is against the rules. I just with somebody had told the guy in the next room. That girl screamed all night long.

As for massage, you can get it right at the airport in Beijing.

Radio Shack is correct. But your hotel should also have a local English language newspaper, which runs massage ads aimed at travelling business men.

You start with the basic massage and negotiate up to happy endings or SP type services. All expected.

I also agree that you should take care of business before 10:00 due to hotel visitor restrictions. But with the jet lag, you'll be sleeping soundly due to your 8:00 pm happy ending.

Don't overlook the barber shops. There are 2 types in beijing, the ones that cut hair and the ones that cut hair and have 3 or 4 cute girls in skimpy clothes hanging around near the door. At the latter massages and more are available.

As was pointed out earlier as long as you are not staying at a western hotel (Sheraton, Hilton, Kempinsky etc.) there will probably be a massage parlour and KTV (karaoke TV) in the basement. The Chinese-owned hotels often have them. Most western hotels will have several security/doormen to keep the SP's out 24/7.

You will also see KTV bars all over the city with the sign in english saying "KTV". Some of these are brothels but most are just expensive ways of meeting a girl for take out. Also almost any bar for westerners near a hotel frequented by westerners will have a least some SP's in them. They may be playing it low key but at the Irish pub near the Holiday INN Lido they won't be. Some hotels like the HI Lido will have loads of massage parlours and "barber shops" within a block or 2 so go out for a walk. Beijing is a very safe city to walk around in.

Lack of English skills will be a problem at most locations except for the girls who hang out in Western bars.

While prostitution is illegal it is widely ignored unless something blatant is done to embarass the government. Just keep a low profile.

I too am going to China this year, plan is to go middle of April. I will land in Hong Kong, stay a few days then take a domestic flight to Beijing, spend a few days there, after that I have hired a tour company to take the next 7 days to get me back to Hong Kong via Shanghi, Xian, Guilin and Guangzhou..
Anyone know which town is the best hobby place???
Big problem.....I speak NO Chinese and am going alone:eek:

Some of the competing sites which cater to international travellers have a lot more info and detail.

I got the impression from them that the hotel operations charged western prices. The "beauty parlours" are the best bet, but not a sure thing for obvious tourists. In any case, you'll wind up paying more at these places than the local people.

Good luck with the tour guide. I hope you realize they get commission on goods sold at a lot of the tourist shops, so they will steer you toward a lot of them.

I actually compared prices on some articles between the tour shops and the airport and found the airport prices to be lower.

I spent a week or so in Guangzhou recently and prices for LT (2 hrs) were 200 RMB in negotiated with the girl directly or 300RMB if through her madam (on the street outside every Western hotel). As soon as you walk out the hotel, their are offers everywhere, so you will not have to search long! The girls were not my thing (prefer hot Western MPA's), so I cannot comment on the level of service that can be expected. Sounds like a 2 shot deal from some of the workers who live there full time. First shot HJ/BJ in the bath followed by some good FS and cleanup job. Please Enjoy!

Believe it or not there is a place they call "Bar Street". Basically wall to wall bars all the way down the street. Frequented mostly by westerners as far as i can remember and most have their share of SPs around. Some even have "hostesses" that you can take home. My biggest concern there was quality control. No Terb, no TOG (that I knew anyway) so buyer beware. I met a nice girl at a 'legit' foot massage place near my hotel who was happy to guide me around a bit etc.

Hey rgkv, if you are in HK, try sex141.com Its like TERB but with a big ad section listing each SP by district in English. It has an English forum but you need to register an email addr so setup a hotmail account. Try the hotel SP ads in TST or Causeway Bay. Most go for 700 or 800 HKD. They operate like TAG so you'll need a cell. Easy if you have a unlocked gsm as proloaded simms are cheap and available everywhere. As far as I can tell, most SP pictures are real and the services are safe. You'll need to research this but I think the phone numbers change frequently for each SP so you'll you need access to the net or take a long list of numbers with you because booking will be challenge as the mamasans speak broken English. Have a reasonably detailed map of TST or CB as the hotels are local and not the western chains.
If you are still with me, haha, one last thing, the hotel security will ask you for ID and register you. Be calm, give them your ID and the room number - they all know why you are visiting. Otherwise, just like a TAG visit. Some will do outs and negotiate for overnight. You need to ask. Bon Voyage!!

Another note to add on Hong Kong. Check out the square in front of Regal Kowloon Hotel; across street from Intercontinental Grand Standford. There is always a mamsan with girls. Proce is highly negotiable -- from $500HKD up.

China SP information

A few further notes on China. I have spent a great deal of time traveling there over the last few years.
I would strongly recommend avoiding the barber shops. These are set up for locals and would be extremely difficult to navigate without good language skills. Also, whenever LE wants to make an example, these are th places raided.
Stick to the hotels and hotel sauna. If there is a crack down, they are all tipped off and the places close ahead of time.
As mentioned in previous posts, the local hotels almost always have massages. The key is to look for "sauna" and then ask for vip service. This will almost universally be seen as a request for FS and the hostess will ether accommodate you or steer you away. The services usually go one to two hours with a decent massage in addition to the other services. Some times you can convince the girl to come to your room afterwards to spend the night rates outside of Beijing and Shanghai generally range from 500RMB ($65) to 800 RMB ($100).
The quality in the saunas is generally good to excellent. The quality in the KTV rooms will vary widely generally depending on the quality of the establishment.
The people in China are very friendly and hobbying is part of the culture there. Enjoy.

HKD is tied to the USD, and will move against CDN as the Yankee buck does.

RMB and HKD are not at parity anymore.
