Domain names, and quality hosting are cheap - Dreamhost is a good one - and it is not that difficult to master the basics of web design. Dreamweaver has made making a decent website well within most people's ability.

I did a site for somebody. I can attest to the rip off.
Except I was the one who got ripped off. I never received final payment.

Registering a domain name and one year of hosting cost about $100 alone. You still have to take pictures of make the website. You don’t want to be on a free server, as it looks really cheap.
With so many marketing options available, like here on terb, I don’t think a website is really that important, especially when you are just starting in the business.

Is $100 a year expensive, giving the costs of advertising on directory sites? One thing a lot of folks without sites don't realize is that there are tons of free stat tracking apps you use with your site. When you use those, you know exactly which directory or review board potential clients are coming from when they visit your site. If you're paying $60 a month for ad space on a directory that isn't sending you squat, that $200 pays for itself pretty quick when you shift that money to somewhere that your stat tracking tells you *is* sending you traffic.
Ever notice how almost every directory looking for you business claims "they're the biggest/most visited/amazing/blah blah escort directory service on the internet"? Amazing how they call all be the biggest simultaneously, LOL. As a businesswoman, you need to know the real numbers so you aren't wasting your money. I cannot understand why anyone wouldn't want access to basic tools to help their business or would be willing to give up control of their image and presentation to potential clients to somebody else if they could avoid it.
But hey, that's just me; and I was trained as a web designer briefly before I got into this, so maybe it is more daunting to learn the basics than I think. But boy, do you ever feel like a superstar when you can create your own stuff that really reflects who you are

not 100 % but i think u can choose to have a banner rather a popup . like i said i noticed this on another site and though to post it here since the person was trying to get the most for there 250$
edit: if it were up to me i would prefer a bannered site then a geocites that goes down every now and then due to bandwidth . the service would at least allow high quality photos as well as a sample video with plenty of bandwidth so that the site wouldnt go down .

If one of your advertisers wanted me to take pictures at you studio, and the pictures are mainly for other sites, do you bill for studio time, cost?
E-C studio is nice
I visited the EC studio and it is very nice. I have not yet shot there. Chris-EC is offering a good deal. I am sure that pix shot there don't have to be branded if used elsewhere...Nothing is ever completely free LOL

Just a suggestion.......... classy pics, a nice bio, nice artwork in the background, and lots of info are great, BUT......
Try to avoid webpages that rely too heavily on flash, shockwave, etc. It takes too long for the pages to load. Also, if you have any slide shows, have an option to view pics without the slide show. Most websites have the slideshows moving by so fast that you can barely see the pics.

IMO the best option for a newbie is to get some decent pix taken and use the existing directories such as Escorts-Canada and become a TERB advertiser so that you can promote here within the guidelines.
BTW: The $100 figure above is not acurate.As stated on my web page, my rates vary according to the amount of time required to shoot and edit. Each assignment is diefferent.

Answer: No, we do place a NON OBSTRUCTIVE logo on the images if the lady would like to use the images on her personal website and we place a copyright stamp on the images when they are on www.Escorts-Canada.com or www.LocalEscorts.ca
The only catch: If we flip the bill for the photographer for the 1 hour session the photos are to only be used on the ladies personal website and her ads on escorts-canada.com or localescorts.ca EXCLUSIVELY.
If she wishes to pay one of the photographers to do a full session with her then she pays the photographer but the studio is still FREE for her to use for up to 6 hours at no cost to her (if she is an advertiser with us of course) and she would be free to use the photos anywhere (Pending the photographer she hires agrees with this of course - those details would need to be worked out with the photographer and her and would have nothing to do with us at the studio) We do list available photographers on our site www.EscortPhotos.ca who we have met in person and can recommend first hand.
