I am watching some of the world series.

I mostly watch soccer, where the players dispute every decision by the referee.

I am surprised that the baseball players never question the decisions of the home plate umpire, even if they seem a bit questionable.

When you grow up playing it, you realize that some calls go your way, others don't.
It works out in the end. Also, every ump has a slightly different strike zone that you learn in your first 1 or 2 at bats of the game. Seldom is a game decided on balls and strikes although it can be frustrating if umpire zone is not consistent.
Plays at the bases can be more impactful of game results but again they do even out over time, they play 162 games.
Playoffs are a shit show now with 2 out of 3 and 3 out if 5.
They should have only 1 wc team in each league for total of 8 teams then play every series 4 out of 7. My 2 cents.

I guess baseball players have better manners than soccer players.

Sure they argue balls and strikes, it happens more during regular season, but very rarely in the playoffs, don't want to risk getting tossed from the game.

I would say because in soccer you already fight 11 other players on the field for 90 minutes... And it's amazingly physical. Your temper is pretty much at highest level for a good portion of the game so you tend to blew a fuse quickly ;)

In baseball you are pretty much in stand still for the best part of the game.

Arguing balls and strikes will get you tossed from the game as a player pronto. Now some hitters look down and display their displeasure for the umpire to hear. But very rarely do they get away with a direction confrontation. That's considered showing up the umpire. An immediate exit usually follows the player.

In baseball the manager takes it upon himself to defend the players regarding questionable calls on the field. Video replay has helped alleviate most of the non balls and strikes confrontations that used to happen.

Miss the old Earl Weaver meltdown days......
