Could Brass Club or Club Madellyn Jae move into the space ? No liquor license needed really though Brass Club and Club Madellyn Jae both do have liquor permits as both have bars in their downtown studios, Massage parlours are open and doing well. Both are licensed as Private Clubs. Brass Club downstairs and CMJ upstairs, would Phil go for that ? Or... hey here is a splendid idea, have a massage parlor in the Barefax space and keep the stage and have the masseuses do some short dances ? Brass Club in the Byward Market, Satisfaction Guaranteed !

You misunderstand the problem. It is getting insurance with a liquor license. They would face the same issue as the current owners. Additionally both Brass and CMJ are attractive because they are discrete. Putting a big ass rub and tug in the middle of the market is the exact opposite of that.

I would say we the public have a lot to do with that as well. Look how many people try and sue to make some easy bucks. Remember the McDonald's hot coffee incident? All that does is make it more difficult for people who have a legitimate claim to get their due, and puts the rate through the roof for anyone trying to get insurance. That of course is passed on to us either by companies going out of business or raising their prices to us. Economics wasn't my strongest subject in Uni, but I can figure this one out. Too many people wanting money for nothing (to quote Dire Straights). Is is any wonder we can't have nice things?

A bunch of us old regulars showed our faces at the FAX last night. It was pretty dead around 8pm, but picked up a bit around 10. No cover. No upstairs charge. I left around 11 and never say anyone to take money upstairs, so that may have gone away.

More importantly though, I saw Shakira. Her stage show is very good imo. So, I met and spoke with her a bit later. She's a smiley, sexy, petite, brunette. She told me that her schedule is usually Tuesday through Friday. Anybody know more about her? She seems terrific to me.

Saw Shakira last night, and I wholeheartedly agree with you, great stage show! So much sexy energy and fun, with a lovely parting of the legs! Other wonderful women on stage were Alyssia, two women named Honey, Cinnamon, and Scarlett. There were also several other ladies whose show I did not see. All in all, a bevy of beauties!

First time in almost 2 years I visited this bar. Strict on checking passports at the entry which is great. About 15 dancers at 9:30 pm Saturday night and more coming after 10:30 and may be 10 to 15 patrons. Unlike Gatineau bars there are no chairs at the stage but tables with chairs away from the stage. Not surprisingly dancers were not making money and it was painful to witness that. I wish I could take all for dances but I am minimizing the number of dancers I come into contact to minimize the risk of Covid.

I found two ladies very attractive and watched them both on stage. Shyloh and Becca both tall slim brunettes. Becca (Rebecca) was the one who most impressed me with her tall slim body and soft pale skin and long black hair and sexy lemon size soft boobs. so I had dances with her. She is very attractive, friendly but relatively low mileage but I will still repeat in a heartbeat.

About 20 to 25 dancers and equal number of patrons at 11 pm when I left but more were coming.

Your experience differed from mine. I was there on the weekend and the CR was busy as per normal. The masks came off upstairs and there were the usual amounts of patrons using the spaces. Other than the strict screening at the door as you mentioned and masks while not at a table, it was business as usual.
