Bans or deletes ??

I saw a few threads disappear , and other bans I think.

What is the policy here on that , informally ?

I really do not wish to read any rules etc because sometimes they are not really followed that well.

Just curious because some threads disappeared , such as the sunglassses thread yesterday and today on buy and sell ?

If you do not wish to read any rules then it makes you lazy....

Threads are removed because they turn into a stupid flame war and we like to keep the drama off the boards when its turning nasty.

to keep the thread on topic .. i would think that if you are respectful in your posting you wont have to worry about being banned or having something deleted.
If something is deleted, it probably deserved to be.

Dear Shiek,

I asked this question because I am interested in being part of this ''community'' so to speak and a respected part as well.

I found your answer to be quite insulting though.

The reason that I asked and did not read the rules is due to the fact that on many message boards, certain rules are followed , and sometimes not followed.

A short while back there was a thread in ''politics'' about the USA and Israel and it was very abusive and also contained many quite derogatory statements to the effect of the world being better without Israel in it.I did comment on said thread and then left it alone.

As I just read all the rules now because I am not lazy at all, I found this threat to be contrary to rule # 5.

Then I saw other threads that were much less abusive in nature such as a few bad words, and sarcasm about sunglasses.

This lead to my respectful question to the community to which I received a slightly disrespectful answer I think.

I do know that you guys cannot read everything and therefore I asked the question because I was interested in the leeway that this board would/would not give. Your answer to me has now explained a little that was not explained and could not really be explained in the rules which again was the reason for my question.

I do not see how my original question was insulting to you at all though.

Just one mans opinion here but I saw a very big contradiction in taking down a ''sunglass'' thread and leaving up borderline hate literature as it pertains to the US/Israel thread, regardless of the political /non political issues.

It is unfortunate that politics brings out passions and prejudices. To take down threads that show the hatred some groups have for others would be denial. I appreciate the fact these treads remain as reminders of the hatred that still exists.

This website is not a democracy. Whoever makes the rules, rules and if they delete one post/thread and leave another, then that's the owner's and the mod's, perogative.

I'd suggest that considering you've only been here a month, that you just chill and enjoy the site and the information we have here. If you're questioning the mod's policies already I think that you might not like it here.

In short, if you don't like it, there's the door, don't let it hit you on the way out.....oh, there's another site around here that let's you get away with all kinds of things (mostly terb bashing however lol) you might find that site more to your liking....

Marc..I think you are asking questions, then providing answers to your own questions ...so I am not even sure what the purpose of your thread is.
Btw..I suggest you review the rules before asking questions and try to familiarize yourself with the "culture' of the site IF you are new round here.
We don't take very kindly to people who waste disk space and bandwidth by posting useless stuff.
But there are other sites that might allow you to get away with that as tboy pointed out.
