Seen a lot of people use the term "bait and switch" in different ways.
I'm curious whether most people use it one way or another.

You left out that a lot of B&S escort ads use images that are stolen from Instagram and other social media sites and amateur and professional porn galleries.

I've also seen a few that use AI-generated images, something I've been predicting is going to happen for a while now.

This website has been so helpful with bait and switch for both cases listed above along with scammers.
And yet there are countless threads where members ask about and fall for blatantly obvious B&S.

In many cases, it's members who should know better.

Unless they are Asian ads which seems to be acceptable and common place for pics to not be the girl you will see. I have never understood this phenomenon.

Applies much wider than just adult rating/advertising web sites. So that is why I am so far the only one to vote for option 2.

Like in a mattress store on the lure of a cheap box spring.
You find the discounted value box spring is only available on the most expensive mattress.
Less expensive mattresses no discounted box spring.

But the advertised deal makes no mention of the hook.

I've always thought there two types of B&S, what I call Asian B&S vs Russian B&S;
Asian B&S is a picture of a young, slim, pretty girl with big boobs in her 20s & when you arrive its a unattractive woman in her fifties, shaped like a box, definitely not anything like the pictures.
Russian B&S is a picture of a slim, attractive, woman in her thirties/forties & when you arrive its a slim, attractive woman in her thirties/forties, not the woman from the pictures, but a close resemblance.
Russian B&S is fine with me, but the Asian B&S is why I avoid the Asian ads on LL.
I know for some guys using any pictures that aren't the real deal, is a B&S but I'm good with a picture that is reasonably close to what the lady looks like.

You raise a good point. I totally get not using real pics for safety or privacy sake. I can support that. In general I have a policy of stolen/fake pics = no booking, but will usually make an exception if they're honest about it and confirmed to be a fun time by reputable board members. Some clients won't book someone with fake pics even if the pics are reasonable representations, and I get that too. And I'd guess some clients don't care either way lol

For me, it could be any misrepresentation of their ad that made them far more flattering either in service or appearance. I chose someone based on an ad and reviews. If the ad is a gross misrepresentation, I walk. I've never walked on an agency, but have walked on a massage spa often and an indy maybe twice or thrice in my life. I stopped seeing Indys a long time ago once LL type sites because unmanageable and when so many Indys started asking for ID and/or deposits.

Deliver the services you advertised for the price you advertised and be close to the physical appearance you advertised using photos. My job is to show up with a good attitude, looking fresh, smelling good, with the proper donation and shower once inside.

I chose the 3rd option.

I think that a lot of the clients who respond to these ads are "thinking with their little head" types who have it figured, "I'm here, I might as well stay."

To me it means fake pictures.

When it comes to service, I feel it's more if you agree to do something rather than just seeing it advertised.

Yep always avoid LL.
Agencies and only reputable well reviewed independents.
If you do want to roll the dice, be prepared to walk Upon meeting.
When in doubt, always walk. It’s your hard earned money, time and dick.

Blah blah blah….

Did they get your money? Can you complain to the better business bureau? Did it work?
So it will never end.

Exactly, B&S operators are always going to count on newbie clients who don't know any better, "thinking with their little head" types who have it figured, "I'm here, I might as well stay", tech-illiterate old farts who are still living in the past and hidden gem dummies who constantly tell themselves, "Hope springs eternal! The next time is going to be different!"

Both are bait and switch but …..

normally when I hear it I assume fake photos.
I agree, the term is mainly used for fake pics, but fake services are just as bad, or even worse for someone like me where service is more important than looks. At least if the pics are fake you can walk out before paying. With fake services you don't usually find out until after handing over the money, and there's no way you'll get it back.

Same, and it's not just LL ads, it's also agencies and spas, and some of them are still considered reputable despite this. I don't know why this is tolerated so much in the Asian scene. Do Asians also think all Asians look the same? 🤣

Fascinating that nearly one quarter of TERB members who responded only use it to mean fake photos.

Truth be told, that's how I've always used it. I've been baited by the images of one person and the person has been "switched" with another. To me, the idea of lying about services isn't a bait and switch because nothing's been switched, it's been denied. But that's the great thing about languages: It evolves over time to mean new things to new people.
