Is it just me or are reliable providers a thing of the past? Since covid started (even a bit before that) it seems like booking an appointment has become much more of a hassle than ever before. Unfortunately, I don't always find recommendations helpful. I don't hobby nearly as much as some of you but here's what it's been like for me since 2019.
Summer 2019, I book with a lady who has tons of great reviews. After I get there on time, she asks for more time; I accept, what else can I do? About 30 min later, I get the ok to go up to her room. As soon as I get it, she closes the door and tells me to hide until she can get rid of the double booking she accidentally did. She asked me first if I had the longer session of the 2 which I did so she got the other guy to go away after knocking on the door. Still went through the session but not a pleasant experience a non-repeat for sure.
Summer 2020, I book with a lady who has tons of great reviews. She got many praises for her oral skills. I go to the appointment and I felt like I got the silence treatment, she barely spoke the entire time. I had the impression that she had PTSD (not the first time I notice this in someone). She meant well but the oral skills were nothing special (I personally felt like there was too much teeth, almost to a painful level). Service was otherwise good but I wouldn't give a perfect 10 as many reviewers did. Felt mislead by the reviews. I guess this was a case of the chemistry just not being there. Disappointing but not offensive, can't see myself repeating.
Summer 2021, I book a lady who has tons of great reviews. I have to go through a screening process. Took 2 days for everything to clear up. I then book a very short session. When I'm about to leave home, I get asked to delay 15min. No problem, I go to the appointment, everything is wonderful, nice personality, she looks amazing, service is wonderful. 2 weeks later, I decide I want to see her again and try to book for 1hr on a Friday or Saturday. She asks me if I can do Sunday instead, I say ok, we find a time and she tells me to txt her an hour before the appointment to confirm so I respond "I'll txt you at 7pm". Sunday morning, as I'm away from my burner, she texts asking if she could push us to 1 hour later because she will have family over and she might not have enough time to get ready. At that point I was expecting to only have to check in at 7pm so I didn't see the message until 4pm. I'm not impressed with the constant changing of times but I say ok. I then get a message saying "you didn't reply so I cancelled your appointment and I'm now fully booked". I was supposed to check in at 7pm but I got cancelled for not responding 7 hours earlier when I was in wait mode. MY availabilities are limited. I wanted to have fun over a free weekend, instead I had to constantly jump through hoops to end up with a giant screw you. If I wanted to bend over backwards for someone and waste my time amounting to nothing I'd go on Tinder instead! Cancelling my booked appointment before the next time of contact is a deal breaker for me (not to mention the colonoscopy to get to this point) so another non-repeat.
In contrast,
In 2017-18, I was never asked for screening/deposit/...
In 2017-18, I booked a lady (since retired or moved or I don't know), she had only a handful of reviews so I took a chance. She turned out to be one of my favourites. I check reviews a few months later and some are thrashing her for all sorts of minor things (ie the appartment was messy, she told me she had just moved in and didn't have time to unpack everything, not like there were roaches crawling around).
In 2017-18 There were 5 ladies I would gladly repeat with, of those 5 only 1 is still active (perhaps because of covid).
Since then I find rates have gone up significantly (thanks covid...) and so has the bs.
For the record, I have ALWAYS been true to my word when I book. I never cancelled or not showed up. Never negotiated rates. I'm not saying positive reviews are all lies, but they don't tell the whole story. Since 2019, I've noticed an increase of comments about not being able to write a truthful review without being chewed out by the provider or some kind of negative consequence (which is why I'm not dropping names, pls don't ask). We are left in an environment where legit criticism is like walking in a mine field; how can this be good for anyone?
I know I sound like an old guy talking about 'the good ol'days', no need to remind me.
