I live in Mississauga and looking for some recommendations for help to lay some patio stones in my backyard so that I can place a hot tub on top. Might need some deck work done as well. Any suggestions. I’m useless at this stuff. Thanks in advance.

Look on "homestars".
Get a few guys with good reviews to come and discuss project with them. Get quotes and go with the one you feel more comfortable with.

You gotta compact that ground first before laying stones otherwise your tub’s weight will make it sink in the ground. I’d ask your hot tub retailers in your area if they recommend any teams they use regularly.

even compacted with patio stones will eventually heave. concrete pad would be a long term and much more stable solution

Dig 18" down, compact ground, 3/4 clear gravel compact every 2", top with 1/4" HPB, good to go with patio stones.

Dig 18" down, compact ground, 3/4 clear gravel compact every 2", top with standard concrete, likely 4" with some thin rebar mesh

two weekend's work, max.
