I would suggest visiting. Buffalo has some of the finest architecture in the nation. Keep in mind that many of the architectural designs in Chicago were first tried here. Most of the designers and architects that developed Chicago also did a lot of work in Buffalo also.jwmorrice said:No suggestions but for some reason your post reminded me of a rail trip I took from Toronto to NY City. At that time, early 80's I guess, you travelled from Toronto in an old VIA Budd rail car and then changed to AMTRAK in Buffalo.
Usually trains don't go through the best areas of a town but still, I found what I saw of Buffalo's housing to be rather depressing. However, the train station was interesting. And as I recall, there was a baseball stadium close to hand. I remember being able to see it from the platform I was waiting on. (But could I have imagined that? A false memory?) I thought that was pretty damn neat.
I've read that there's some interesting architecture in the Queen city and perhaps some day I'll make a point of travelling there to see it. There's definitely some sort of attraction for me. Maybe a result of growing up in the 50's when, from a Toronto vantage, all the best tv stations seemed to be in that city.
