My friend is 7 months pregnant and I want to get her something. What should I get her and does it matter if I before or after the baby is born?

Classic children's books in hardcover.

Dr Seuss is always nice.

Winnie the Pooh, Curious George, Robert Munsch etc

Many of them sell collected editions where you get multiple stories in the same book.

I think being read stories is a nice memory of childhood and a gift the promotes literacy is good too.

Lola had some good ideas about being remembered...... give them a gift card for a restaurant/hotel and offer to baby sit.

Or if they don't have netflix buy them an apple TV + pay their netflix subscription.

Yes, books, though for a newborn I would recommend the Lois Ehlert board books. They stimulate their brains. You can get them anywhere.
Yeah I was thinking more long term gift.

Along that lines some people will give clothes for slightly bigger kids as they will be given plenty for the first year.

The best gift i recieved when my daughter was born.

The Bumbo
After a few months........helps them sit up on their own without falling over. just lay it on the ground. don't put it on a chair or couch, or else the child might tip it over causing injury.

FYI. There is a recall for this.
I know...........but it only take a few complaints for them to recal it.
I'm guessing these people foolishly set it on a couch and the baby leaned forward....then crash.
on the ground the baby cant tip it over.

My child has not had any incidents with it.

Maybe, they've come out with a more heavier model.

Actually the news report that I saw said the problem was with kids leaning back and the back gives way causing the kid to fall backwards.

I always thought that recalls are done when they figure the lawsuits are more expensive than doing a recall.
