The drought in Australia is very real and getting serious. Don't know if the above is true or not but considering the situation it wouldn't surprise me of some level of talks going on behind the scenes looking at all scenarios.

There's also talks of building a new desalination plant at the cost of $1B Aussie dollars. This plant would be 2-3 times the sixe of the one in Perth. The Perth one only supplies 17% of the cities water needs.

On a lighter side we can use more sexy Aussie ladies and we could use the Australian swim team as well to win us some more medals at the Olympics

Whatdoesitmean.com is notorious for turning vague facts into hysterical headlines and they confuse it by putting real news on the site as well ...

When you see it in The Australian or the Sydney Morning Herald then I'd treat it seriously - until then. . .

That's why I said I'm not sure if there is any truth to it. The first I actually heard about it was on Art Bell, between the UFO sightings and the latest conspiracy theories. But he did make a good point that no matter what you feel the cause of changing weather patterns are, humans are going to have to make major changes to adapt to these patterns.

Not that I'm from the antipodes but Australia is a continent of vast differences in rainfall even in the best of times. Certainly large parts of the outback are by most standards barely habitable even in the best of times - where you talk about how many miles per sheep rather than how many sheep or cattle per mile. Yet there are parts of the "tropic north" which are monsoonal and where water buffalo are just about as practical if not more so than cattle.

A very interesting country!
