I thought nobody knew about this product so I didn't panic when they started the pre-orders before the mid Dec. arrival. ASUS didn't do the multi-million dollar campaigning that Apple did and only the tech geeks would be following the introduction. It is the most powerful tablet ever produced. All the specs blow iPad (and others) out of the water we are talking 55% more power with quad core processing, great camera, terrific screen, sexy metal case with an optional integrated keyboard that carries additional battery power and ports. It is perfect for my traveling needs.

Seems there are more geeks than I anticipated. There are so many pre-orders that Staples, BestBuy, and Future have stopped taking them and Canada Computer warn that there are none available until at least January for their pre-order list.

If there are a few looking for them in the terb community, try NCIX - they were taking orders on the 32GB silver with an anticipated (but not guaranteed) pre- Dec 25 delivery.

I'd wait.

Android tablets are not selling well. Because of this, ASUS will probably repeat the bundles they did with the original.

Wait a few months and you'll be able to snag the transformer prime with the dock for an extra $50, not an extra $150.

I disagree! waiting a few month in tech is one of the silliest recommendations I've ever heard although I'm sure many who waited to get an iPhone 3gs for free are happy  LMAO
Asus is selling the original transformer for the same price it was introduced at and the keyboard dock has not been reduced although there have been a few sales for short periods of time.

the new Asus Transformer Prime will be by far the best Android tablet available and the people wanting that won't be patient for a few months to save a few bucks. IMO $150 is not a steep price for an additional battery, case, keyboard, card reader, usb ports and hdmi ports which are all contained in the Dock.

$50 or more for an iPad COVER on the other hand is completely ridiculous.

here's a couple of reviews of the Transformer Prime:

I'd love to be sold on tablets, but I still don't have any urge to get one.

A 100+ page thread on monitoring the original Transformer bundles. You're right. No one cares.

I'd buy it 'cause it ties into the Transformers movies, right?
Yup. It was modeled after the Autobot's Computer Teletraan and the Decepticon Shockwave.

They had to remove some of the better features, for fear it would start World War III. But we can still pretend. :)

Just warning everyone I had one and sold it because the keyboard adds so much weight I might as well have got a much cheaper full functioning windows bot android netbook for half the price...

I've read that dock gives you an extra 8 hours or so of battery. That's in addition to the usual 8-9 hours one gets with just the Transformer.

To some, that would be worth the extra weight.

Yeah for me the keyboard would be used only when travelling. I would leave my notebook home.
